Yes Bull I was getting payed to sit on a barge no ferries here mate. Just big landing barge's. There's a drawbridge on the mainland you drive on the back of the barge and all the Islands have a concrete ramp that the barge pulls up to and drops the front ramp down and you drive off.
Nice relaxing way to travel. I have ferried my Rocket on the Outer Banks a couple of times between the mainland and Ocracoke Island and from there to Hatteras Island. I worried about the steel stand on a steel deck.
What's nice about this forum you get to see places i'll probably never get to visit in my life time. I try to get over to the Islands of Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard at least once a year. There are at least ten of us that go every April or May. We make a day of it and if we miss the 5:00PM boat we'll take the next one out.
