Transmission

Mine was through troubleshooting through some of the old posts. Around 4000 rpm my transmission tends to slip. This has happened in pretty much every gear. Has nothing to do with the neutral drop (been used to that since I had the bike). Planning on pulling the gear position sensor out and cleaning it, but the way the bike slips in/out of gear, I'm thinking the spring may be bad? Figured if you already had some, it would just same me the effort of tracking one down and shipping separately.
At the high load it pops out of gear and as soon as i back off it pops back in on it's own.

I don't think hard riding has anything to do with it - otherwise Warp would be going through them regularly. Mine just went on me while I was puddling around town. Would be good to understand what actually causes it though; or whether it was a crap batch of springs.

Just did mine myself the other week..

Spring was $5 and labour quote was $330 + what ever else they would be able to add to top up the cost

Clutch tool was $15.. Dennis Kirk US

I make my own clutch tool

the Triumph Tool you give your first born child for

You have to remove the whole clutch basket to ghet at the detent spring so figure on ordering the nut for the input shaft and the clutch cover gasket. I also alway take the sump plate down to clean th escreens of debris so bu one of them gaskets also incase yours does not stay up on the block. Some times they are still good and can be used again.

In the picture below the spring in the back is the detent spring since yours does not just jump out og gear I wonder wha tthe one in the front does? I will have to investigate it as it could be part of your problem also.

Hopefully, a scotch brite to the GPS will fix the problem! :D I'll take it off this Friday evening and clean it up then of course I'll have to spend all weekend "test" riding her to make sure the problem's solved! ;)
I'm the original owner, but never received any info about a recall. Nor did either of the triumph shops ever mention it during the two servicing's I've had them do? But thanks for the photos just in case.
