Been there-done that! 72 foot US Navy research vessel on a NOAA diving expedition.
Got caught in the outer region of a hurricane. Let me tell you-sliding down a 40 foot wave and putting 20 feet of the foredeck under water-well, you see GOD is all I can say! NEVER again-holy COW. Unending for 10 hours and two of us STANDING on the wheel so the Capt. could have some semblance of control.

Not to mention that 40 cylinders of compressed at at the stern becoming a bit "loose" in the rack, the dinghy getting ripped away, or the 20 divers in the lower cabin having to ride it out down there. Puke everywhere!

Thank goodness the ship was designed to be DROPPED into the ocean from a flying boat and had a hull over 13" thick of Navy composite.

There is nothing on earth like standing on the rear deck of a ship, trying to secure cylinders, and look up to see a 40 foot wall of water block out the sky.
