Gday all, here's a thread for al to share their pics, vids and stories about the fantastic experience that 2012 RDU was.

As we start our final day, I wanted to let all you guys know what a top effort Big Marty, Tom Cat, Big Marty's Mrs and everyone else put in to make this event one to be remembered!

Personally, I've made some mates I'll have forever, had a great ride and learnt off some great tips and ideas of things I can do for next year so hopefully can win the next trophy for Most Mods Roadster!!!! Yayee for me. I love the piece of art Trophy that TC generously put the time in to getting made.

Many funny and amusing/embarrasing... as well as Rocket related pics be up over the following days , no doubt. We all had a great time together as the photos will show. PS Richard has lent me his laptop on the promise i don't misbehave while I'm logged in under his name..Tomcat ;)

I just arrived home from the Hervey Bay RDU, a great two days, it was very pleasing to catch up with all the Rocket owners who until this weekend were just names and contacts on the forum.
Saturday and Saturday night was very enjoyable and memorable, I really did enjoy looking over all the Rockets and talking to their owners.
In my view a great success and a result of a lot of hard work my Marty & Mrs Marty and a lot of other individuals and of course all the Rocket owners that made a effort to come along.
I am dispointed I could not have been able get Thursday to Sunday off, maybe next year.
A great group of people at well run event, now have a safe ride home to you all and will catch up with you on the forums.

Well I survived the weekend...lol. A BIG thanks to everyone that came, I know a few of you traveled quite a few Kms to get here but it was great to finally put names to faces. There will no doubt be plenty of pics getting put up. Heres one from Friday night BBQ and Hanso(hoppy) and Ann. :D

Alright, here's a couple of observations.

25 bikes, 1 car tyre (and it was towing a trailer), 1 touring. Pretty even mix of Metz, Avon and Bridgestone. Only 4 bikes with standard exhaust - 2 Roadster, 1 Classic and 1 Touring. Couple of Claret (no red), couple of blood and bone, couple of black/red, 1 blue/silver, 1 black/white (touring). Rest were common as muck black. No 2 bikes the same. Exhaust systems ranged from TORS (2 and 3 pipe), Staintunes (2 and 3 pipe), Ponters beasts, TC's beasts, Malcy's very nice pair, couple of 2 on the right side, 3 MaddAss and best of the lot, 2 cans designed by Tekcor and custom made which are a work or art and winner of the best exhaust trophy. I know I've missed a lot out.

First pic - friday. The day started with about 7 of us leaving Warwick. That was Ponters and Malcy (already travelled about 1800kms), me and Hanso (1100kms), TC, Mitch, Gra, and I'm sorry if I missed anyone) heading off to Toowoomba (picking Big Al up on the way) to meet up with several others. Suddenly we were about 13. This is where we stopped and I'm sure the servo thought "you beauty", but I think only Hanso and Mittzy filled up!

From l to r, Gra53, Ponters, Mitch, Catherine, Donny, Malcy, Big Al, TC. That's Malcy's very nice exhaust in the middle (red stripe on tank).

2nd pic is the judging of the best exhaust by Amanda - who will tell you she knows nothing about exhausts except she knows what she doesn't like. She was blindfolded and, big surprise, didn't seem to like my TORS. I reckon everyone would agree she did a great job and selected 4 finalists that pretty much everyone there would have chosen anyway. The winner was Tekcor's beautiful system that not only looks fantastic but sounds terrific too. Hopefully he'll post some detailed pics for you all because they are unique. The other finalists were Malcy, Motolink (Roadster Staintunes) and someone else I can't remember although it was an awesome sounding 2 pipe on the rhs system - maybe he'll speak up.

On the right is Motolink with his Staintunes and Gary (someone help me with his forum name please) who won the People's choice award and most modded Standard/Classic award - a bike well worth seeing. A bit 'loud' for our judge I fear, but he did go away with 2 of the 6 awards anyway. Next to him is an absolutely gorgeous Claret standard with Mitch looking very enviously at it. Malcy also in the line. Can't make out the others - sorry.

Next post will be shorter!

Wow It Actually Happend

G'day to one and all;

It took a while but we have the first one under our belt, all the frustration and regrettably getting a bit short with some people it went off without a hitch.

During Friday night made a speech, & I know I have a pretty fowl mouth at the best of times, especially to the ladies if I offended please accept my sincerest apologies. Had a bloody good mate that pointed out parts of my language were a bit harsh, hence the apology.

Wow what can a man say, I'm definitely not a emotional bloke at the best of times, but I have to admit meeting you all at Maryborough was a blast. Then to have the opportunity to lead everyone into Hervey Bay is a experience that can never be equalled, & one of the best moments in my short life of 53 years.

I can only describe how I felt. Looking in the mirror and seeing the distinctive double headlights of the rockets following behind, not to be out done hearing all that rumble from the varying exhausts and riding styles.

Leading your mates into your home town, watching people snapping their heads around, stopping to look what the noise was, made me the proudest man in town. Silly bastard, I got water welling up in the eyes and a big lump in my throat, chest swelled twice it's size, it's finally happened the Rockets from Downunder have finally arrived.

Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you that took time out of your lives to make our first get together a raging success. How ever there is a few that deserve my praise and sincerest gratitude, without them it would never have happened.

Tomcat & his beautiful lady Catherine, So much running around, help and advice. Tomcat is the man responsible for more than two thirds of the items we had for our auction. Like a dog with a bone, never stopped, never gave up. Catherine got home from work (a very demanding job I might add) so much computer work and collation of what we had and from where, and I can't for get our posters. The biggest thing that will never be forgotten was Tomcats ideas and drive that made our trophies so unique to the event and rocket riders alike.

I also have to thank each and every one of you for without you none of this would have happened in the first place. The stories & pictures that we will and share, can never equal what we have all shared in person. Thanks You all So Much, a very proud man to be associated with such a outstanding group of Men and Woman.

Marty & Cathy
