Thumbs up Good Neighbors

Glad to say my ridin' buddies are hard at work solving the mysteries that lie within the ECU. The variables are a correlation to my golf swing. So many things have to go right for it to work and if anybody can figure it out..... Tomo & Brian have my vote.

( Do you guys think putting me on the Dyno would help by slice?)

Actually Pianoman the only dyno tune out there is was done on a bike with staintune pipes like yours so you should be pretty much plug and play.

I agree on the need of a Dyno for a perfect set up.

Most of the Dyno tuning centers are not interested in doing tunes for a few R3, and / or learn how to do it in a new bike, without charging some one the innevitable bill.

The question is, how much does a Dyno cost ? Probably buying a Dyno should be the right option if we want to make it work as fine as we can.

Here in Madrid / Spain it is going to be difficult to buy it just for as few R3 freaks, but maybe there in the US in it is more reasonable to buy one a share the use among 10 or more R3 owners. We can also share the use with some other Triumph owners who are playing with PowerCommand and / or TuneBoy.

Not only for set up, but also it can be used has a toy to see how powerfull your bike is, so many users will accept to pay a reasonable fee just for cheking the bike status.

It is strange that an average dealer dont have a Dyno to proper tune the bikes, not only the street legal ones, but also the race only that a lot of people have to have fun at the race track.

What else can we do ?

I am open to participate in the buying of a Dyno if the cost is reasonable and some users wants to participate on the project, but as far as I know, no other spanish bikers are on this or other similar forums. I can have the necesary floor space, but no idea how to use the Dyno and how to interpretate the numbers.

This links with another issue, DEALERS, since most of them are not so professional as we would like. To solve this I proposed to open a garage where all the users will be shareolders, so we can have the right service at a better cost, and at the end, servicing other bikes, it will not cost us any cent. Out off some 5.000 bikers, just 3 wanted to jump the idea.

Anyway, letīs go for it, and letīs try it with our actual resources.

Stock bike is ok, but we all know it can be better ..., and this is what keep us here in front of the computer.

Good night.

MadRock

TuneBoy Modified Tunes Talk

In an attempt at a little housekeeping I have created this thread for modified tune discussions and moved the appropriate threads here.

Hi guys... Just thought I would pop in and see what was happening over here Also to say that I am trying to get Wayne to meet up with myself and a couple of R3 owners with different setups and spend a day on the dyno. If we could do this he could post a few more maps up accordingly. Might please a few of you who have gone the Tuneboy way and also prompt a few more to get on board. Cheers!

I've been in touch with Wayne and Pigr about trimming the L maps to get rid of the popping. Wayne said he would send me a program to log the manifold pressure as a function of rpm and throttle position and send it to him for suggestions. The L maps work on manifold pressure. This way we could see at what pressure and rpms the popping happens and fatten up those cells. My bike starts to pop at about 1500 rpm while decelerating to a stop. Sometimes I get the loudest pops just as I stop.

DougL I have been going that same direction with Wayne. I would like to see the data logger have the ability to log any of the sensors that the diagnostics program displays. Especially the MAP sensor and the TPS sensor so at least you have an idea of where in the F or L maps you are a any given time. It seems when I try to eliminate the popping by adding to the L maps I lose smoothness and develop some noticeable flat spots. I think the a/f values need to be adjusted also when you add that much fuel to the L maps.

My dyno tune has been pushed back a few weeks. The tuner's two dynos that he has access to are both down and he has had to send parts to the manufacturer for repair.

PUNISHER that would be much appreciated. I have gone back to the stevedyno tune with a few a/f ratio mods I will post it shortly. What kind of intake and exhaust set up do you have?
