Nice job Benny. The only suggestions have for everyone is clearances. Myself I like them on the larger side if your doing any changes. The reason being most of them tighten up especially the exhaust which siffers more abuse do to the fire and heat going thru them. Also as metal heats it expands so clerances tighten up. I have the same opinion when I check mine which are under the shim buckets. also when installing the rubber gasket I use Hylomar gasket sealant to help hold the gasket in place especially the area where the spark plugs are as it is much more flimsy. This is not mentioned in the manual just something I picked up over the years so it does not shift on you whne you installing the cam cover. I have had it happen especially on the side where the throttle bodies are. If you leave the throttle bodies in place it is much easier to not notice a shift in the gasket from using the short cut. Normally I think thmanual has you pull the throttle bodies whish is not hard and you can leave the throttle cables attached and just tie it to the handle bars. Its not needed but does give you more visability. The same goes for th efuel tank I unhook the e and pull the tank its about 5 minutes mor eof work for more visibility. This is a lot less time then rediong the job because the cam cover gasket shifted on install.

Fortunatley Benny did not have to change shims or you would see why its a wee bit expensive to pary a Technician to do the job. In the case of this you want to look at your cam chain guide if it is a older Rocket because it might not have to newer updated guide in it. Like benny's personally if I were Benny I would not change it until I had to lift the cams. I like the older guide with the stock valve springs. But if you have to lift the cams I would renew the chain and the guide on the adjusting side plus upgrade the tensioner with a anti kick back device for safety. This is basically modifying the original center nut and can be done without losing tension on the chain as long as you do not try to start or turn the motor over with the starter. If you have ever seen the tensioner fail and a valve break off you would modify yours also. (it aint pretty)
