Maverick Lowrider Seat

I love my R3R. Not a fan of the stock seat. Not interested in the Corbin. Wish Mustang made a seat for the Rocket - I contacted them but they are not interested. I looked at a few custom seat companies, emailed a few but received no response. Scheduled a Russell Day Long and then cancelled. I know it gets good reviews and it looks comfy but I don't want to sit any higher or have to slide forward to get my feet flat footed at a stop or have to send my seat pan to have it made, and then find out I am not happy with it. I was searching for a stock seat to purchase hopefully cheap so I could send that to Russell and then still have my stock set just in case and that is when I stumbled on the Maverick Lowrider. Half the price of the Russell and Lower instead of Taller. Just what I was searching for! I just ordered it. I will post a review here once it arrives and after I have put a few miles on it.

BFLYER,
Thanks mucho! Me likes the look!
It looks quite a bit lower to the ground than the stocker.
Please give us a report once you mount and take it out on a nice long trip.

JMTC... LaPera is a big favorite with the Harley crowd. I always look at them and wonder if they're made for the long haul. Keep us posted. Two Rocket owners told me about this guy Don Weber back in 2008, they told me he's a master at making custom seats for the Rocket

That does not look comfortable at all .. be making sure I could live with it before outlaying hard earned.

Though that is good advice I am in US, the seat maker is overseas and it is new from them for our bike. Not sure what my options to try it out are other than buying it. I have researched seats excessively or should I say obsessively since purchasing the R3R. I put a deposit on the Russell and cancelled it, and almost ordered it a second time. I have contacted a few other custom seat makers but they all want me to ship my seat to them and I still won't be sure until I receive the seat back if I like it. Like I said, I was ready to purchase a second stock seat to have one custom made when I stumbled on the Lowrider.

If I were 6'1" or taller 250 plus pounds I might be OK with the stock seat. I am 5'10" 190 pounds. I have only ever owned cruisers and they have all had lower seats. I am accustomed to being able to stand up out of the seat at a stop. The other thing about the stock seat is it is just too wide for me. That is the potential problem I see with the Russell as well. AND I don't like potato chip seats like the stock seat. I like a more defined seat like the Mustang, which I had on three previous bikes and have on my Raider. The Mustang is a firmer seat as well which is fine with me. My one experience with Corbin along with the reviews I read causes me to never want to purchase anything from them again.

From my experience, knowing what I like, and extensive research I believe the Lowrider is JUST what I was searching for. Just like many things with motorcycles and life, to each his own.

I am willing to take the chance with my hard earned for all Rocket owners worldwide and buy this seat - then good or bad I will post my review here.

You are welcome!

I ordered and paid for mine on line last week Thursday night, will see how long it takes to get to Australia. I had already scooped some of the original seat out, I have a slight bend in the knees with both feet flat on the ground now, will see how this one goes. Wife isn't too keen on jumping on the back since I removed the back rest and upped the power so a single seat will be fine.
