My Corbin Seat arrived the other day and I was over the moon the Ox Blood Welts looked even better than I had imagined and even did the welt in the Gunfighter ovalbac (it is the smallest they make) backrest I ordered. Oh and I nearly forgot it is heated yeah yeah I know I am getting soft but yesterday I went over to Ruzzle's place and got caught out and got soaked but I had a warm butt :D
Corbin's bracket including the brackets of the seat
Unfortunately as others had reported the Mount system Corbin had made is next to useless as even with the brackets pushed as forward as they go there was no way they were going to line up but fortunately they had made a god decision to put threaded lugs in the base of the seat so I made a template of the base including the threaded holes to make my own bracket I used 3mm Stainless sheet and used my Plasma cutter to cut out a bracket then with a engineer's ballpein hammer and vice put the necessary bends so that it flowed along the base to where the original seat lock goes I sat a seat lock spike of the bottom of my original seat in the locking catch with some cardboard holding it up in as high as possible and place a couple of pieces of "Blu Tack" on it back then with the bracket mounted on the seat I placed the seat on the bike and carefully sat on it, got of carefully and while holding the key in the open position lifted the seat and drew an out line on the bracket, removed the Blu Tack drilled and mounted the lock spike on to the base, I then slotted the holes on the bracket where it mounts on to the seat to allow fine tuning

My bracket before mounting the seat spike

You can also see the new Top Box on bike made by MBK a division of Givi, the paint section is actually an easy to remove skin which was nice shade of Yamaha Blue, I picked up the Top Box at "Joe's Motorcycles" where Richard works. It also has a reflector in the back which is the perfect size to mount a self adhesive LED strip (there are different sizes and brightness one available from Jaycars)I got the larger brightess one they had:cool::thumbsup: and it is super bright

ordered 27 July arrived 13 September but that was thru an Australian distributor (there is only one) they said it would take 12 weeks but it took less, unfortunately we can not order directly thru Corbin in States, so I suggest that any Aussies go to the Corbin website work out what exactly you want write down the part numbers etc and colours before ringing VPW on 1300 879 879 and speak to Ian as there is no Aussie Corbin website for the seats VPW.com just shows a Touring seat on their site and I strongly suggest that you would want look at all the options.
You can also contact them thru 03 8405 9200 or e-mail them at sales@vpw.com.au

Nearly Forgot I also fitted these J W Speaker Headlight inserts with the Harley extension rims Chris (Barbagris) put me on to

Actually got to try the lights out tonight on the way to work, left 15 min early so I could go the long way to work via Mogo, Tomakin an extra 15km and do they work a treat like day light on hi beam, great distance and spread (I had the driving lights switched off) almost don't need the driving light but I like a lot of light so I will probably upgrade those some as well, as the the current ones which made a massive improvement to the std halogen light only just go past the J W Speakers so any body have a suggestion for some super awesome driving lights

I too had Chris's guidance and installed J.W. Speaker's as well. Very pleased. I used the HD's as well but put the mounting rackets of them on the outside of the buckets. They bounce a bit more than I would like so stiffening is in their future. I am looking for the right fogs to focus closer in and so far have not felt the need for added driving lights. I had Cee Baillys for lens protectors but have taken them off as they were distracting visually and i am pretty sure the polycarb on the Speakers will hold up well. Looking at Rigid lights now, seem well made, good output, 1/2 Speaker prices for fogs or drivers.
Your seat is gorgeous.
What are your saddlebags?

Std triumph leather bags with the rivets swapped for cup head hex drive bolts and nylon nut and they have the triumph dress trims on
I actually bought these of Cobba's RIP widow as I had fitted ghost style brackets to my originals (since sold them on to another member) and I needed to go back to the triumph mounts so I could put the dress rails on but I modified them so I only undo the two main bolts from inside each of the bags it make it Quick change, in less than 1/2 an hour 12 bolt changes the screens from the touring to fly, panniers off replaced by OEM chrome bolts and top box of and sissy bar back on

HansO,
Nice thoughtful work for the wife. It's good to have your partner ride with you once in awhile. :) Mine has only about three times in the past 38 years. It's just not her bag. :(

The Corbin does indeed look very nice. I have met and visited with Mike Corbin. He is stand up all the way and supports his products.

Was your "Gray Beard" Speaker headlight set up with those HD rims all plug and play or was there some grinding and alterting?
Nice work, Amigo!
