Has anyone installed a 205 65 16 on a Touring?

Yes john a 205 /60/16 will fit. I have it on my bike, no problems at all.

I have a 195/60/16 installed on my R3T and have plenty of room...I think you would have plenty of room as well. I think the 195 is plenty big for the rim...the 205 might be too wide for the rim????

He said a 65 aspect ratio, not sure if that affects width, thinking not? And is he referring to a car tire, maybe?

Thanks Tripp for pointing that out, I missed that, I have no idea if a 65 will fit. but I do know that a 60 will.

I am running a 205/60-16 and it doesn't rub at all even with 11.5" shocks installed. The 65 should be a little taller and narrower but not by much.

I'm now running a 205 60 16. I was thinking of a little taller tire to reduce the RPM at interstate speeds. A 65 series tire is a little less than an inch taller. I think it will work but, I wanted to see if anyone had tried it first so I wouldn't waste my money and time.

I love my Rocket but, one think it needs is a 6th gear for touring. It runs fine at 70 MPH but, when you push it to 75 and 80 for long distance the motor is screaming. I know its not hurting anything but, I think fuel mileage would improve and it would make things much more relaxed. I'm not sure how much difference an inch would make but, I need to replace my tire and thought I'd try it.

The CT worked great for me. I wore it out in about 12,000 miles. I ride hard and aggressive and never had an issue. I'm a sold out Dark Sider!

It depends on the tire. I ran a 205 60 profile runflat with no issues. I went to a Triple Tread Goodyear 205 65 16 and with me 285lbs, my wife 190lbs, and the bike loaded 75lbs, it would rub when we hit bumps. But understand, the triple tread at a 65 profile was actually 8" wide. It rubbed up towards the front of fender where the tail light wires came through the fender. If you stay less than 8" in width, you should be fine.
