I'm replacing the front pads. The pad pin has a hex head. Do you need to torque it to specs? How? Is there an attachment for a torque ratchet wrench for an L shaped allen key?

The service manual states "Tighten the pad retaining pin to 18 Nm, and secure with a new split pin."

Can't help you on the tool question

So I guess I need to go out and buy a torwue wrench and some allen sockets. Never put a torque wrench to my 1970 TR6R ot 1983 Sportster.

Allen bits and an adapter so they fit on a normal ratchet wrench (or torque wrench).

I've tossed all my Allen keys into the bottom of the toolbox, never use them for anything. Well, except the gigantic ones, but only until I can get a set of up-to-22 mm hex sockets.

Something along these lines.

Just be sure it's an inch pound torque wrench and not a foot pound torque wrench. And don't get a cheap one, as cheap ones are not accurate.
