OK, I'll never call myself a "Cruiser" rider, but I am proud to own and operate a Rocket.

I am not new to Triumph. I own a 1998 Daytona T595. I love the bike, but I just don't see myself riding a sportbike anymore. Even one as comfortable as the Daytona. I'm a 6'8" guy and the sportbikes are killing my wrists.

I freaking love the R3R! I could never give up going fast and out accelerating most supercars, so I told myself that if I ever got anything other than a full faired sportbike, I'd get the Rocket. Well, that sooner or later thing happened much sooner than expected.

I'm most likely one of the youngest people on this site with a New R3 at 27. Being a tall guy, I still make this thing look tiny. But most anything next to me looks tiny.

I am currently in Iraq finishing my second deployment here and bought the bike on R&R. I put about 300 miles on it and now all I can do is plan the parts I need to get when I finally get home.

I am planning the flyscreen from triumph, belly pan from newr3,Staintune exhasut (new for the roadster CALmoto: Staintune Part: 235c3, Rocket III Roadster Mega Slash Cut Mufflers and Collector Set), and some random powder coating (as much chrome as possible) and ceramic coating (exhaust).

I love the matte black paint. I didn't even notice there was a new Roadster model until the paint caught my eye. I know, how can flat black catch an eye? Well I love flat black. My 1965 Ford Falcon is flat black and my 1999 Ford SVT Lightning will soon be flat black. I'll post pics of those too. I will have to wait a couple months to put them all side by side.

This seems to be a very friendly site. I look forward to passing time on this forum!

Welcome Vinkster.......27 years old is never to young to enjoy a Rocket! I am on my third Rocket (Roadster) which is just about broken in.Once you get accustomed to the power and how to use it it, is hard to ride anything less......Good Luck!

Welcome.
But remember ... there's a difference between "flat black" and lazy white-bread Shaky-can primer "Flat black". lol:D

Interestingly, I had a customer buy one of my 'Rocket 2300' Polished Stainless Inserts a few weeks ago. He installed it on a new Roadster. I was a bit worried that it would not fit so I told him if it didn't, he could box it up in the original packing and return it for a full refund, because I had no idea that the radiator was the same dimensions and had the same mounts.

Long story short. It fits just fine plus my Brakeline Clamps fit as well.

Wecome aboard by the way. You look just fine in black.:D

Yes, it was. Thanks for the business by the way. My Billet Stainless Brakeline Clamp sets fit as well as the Billet Aluminum Handlebar Clamps and the Paddock Stand.

I'm glad Triumph keeps the same chassis design. Good for business.

If, I have enough requests, I'll plot out a Roadster specific insert and offer that.

Welcome to the site, the bike still looks big, but it fits. Keep safe over here and enjoy your riding when you return.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I definitely got a good dose of how the Rocket feels. I was home on leave when I bought it. Even though I only had a few days left of leave when I purchased it, I put over 300 miles on it to make sure i broke it in before "having fun" (read:hooning) on it.

I might be one of the younger Rocket owners, but I feel it fits my stature as well as my personality. Not to mention, it looks like a two wheeled version of my car.

I've been riding since 2001. I know some of you guys have been riding since before I was born, but I think that I have owned or operated enough bikes that I can actually appreciate this bike. My first bike was a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200S. Great bike. I think the rocket is closest to that bike in performance, comfort and ridability. The rocket kicks the Bandit's @$$ in almost everything, but I always liked the Bandit. The next bike is my T595. I don't have to talk about that bike. I'm sure everyone knows how well rounded and how much of a following that bike has for it's relatively low numbers. I've ridden friend's HD's, Honda's, Kawasakis, Suzuki's, yamaha's and even Victorys. I have never pulled away in first gear with as much respect and joy as with this bike. It's not the fastest, the most comfortable, and definitely not the best looking bike to the majority of people that see it, but I bonded with it immediately. Is that how it was with everyone else? I know some people bought them unseen let alone unridden. I even told the sales guy that I didn't want to ride it. Cause I knew I'd take it home if I did. Sure enough, while I was out on my test ride, he put a new Daytona 675 Special Edition in the spot where mine was. I rode home with the papers about an hour later.

Sorry about the story. Felt I had to share.
