The big question for 2009 Riders!!!!!!?????

Windscreen, lower deflectors, floorboards, crash bars with highway pegs, and a Corbin dual tour seat w/ backrest. That about sums it up. Oh, and NOT twisting the throttle at every opportunity helps, too.

    The Dreaded "BearClaw".

And if you've ever dropped one of the two bolts between the oil tank and engine while trying (struggling) to get them back in, a universal brain solvent (alcohol) helps, too.

    My First 100 mile ride

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! The better half (has an '08 Bonnie T100) and I are planning a moderate 440-mile ride to Spokane, Washington via Idaho 55/Washinton 95, which takes us square through the Boise Mountains and western part of the Sawtooth Range, in May. Really looking forward to it...

    What do you use??

11Mb/s cable, baby! Yeah! Great for when new music albums come out and YouTubing. Seriously considering switching from Time-Warner cable to Verizon Wireless (about the same speed, but five bucks less per month, though I'd have to add a wireless card to my desktop).

    general common breakdown/breakin issues question

No major problems, just a couple of minor issues fixed under warranty and a couple of others I took care of myself. - Idle issue done under warranty (did a TuneBoy retune later to compensate for the exhaust and intake mods) - Noisy PCV under warranty - Fuel gauge inaccuracy I fixed while I had...

Can not believe the new 2008 Turing Rocket

There was indeed, for the 2007 year only. It wasn't exactly a separate model, like the Touring is, but a very well-equipped Classic. Bags, sissy bar, dual touring seat, floorboards, heel-toe, and the roadster windscreen. Roughly $2,500 in extras, but at half that cost over the Classic price. I...

    2500cc Rocket...spotted

Nah. Shoes don't match the 'outfit'. :D

what suspension setting is best or should I change it.

Yikes... Ohlins. Terrific stuff, but insanely expensive and difficult to find dealers here for ATVs. Wanted to run a full set on my YFZ450... then saw the price tag. Wound up running custom Elka. Progressives are a huge improvement over the standards, though! My Rock grew noticably sharper in...

    Drag Triumph 1985

I've seen a couple of drag-race Bonnies on YouTube. Pretty wild sound, to hear one of those things taching 10,000rpm+! Very cool, boogerdave! What times were you running?

photo shop.. what an interesting tool

Photoshop, huh? I use Adobe Creative Suite 4 in my small-time art-printing business (includes Photoshop). Gimme a holler if you need help or advice!

    My First Triumph

First Triumph? Boy, you picked a whopper! I've got two of 'em now; my Rocket III Classic Tourer and a Bonnie T100. Both are great bikes in their own regard. With the big Rock, you'll not find another big cruiser that packs as big a whallop, especially if you do the 'normal' tweaks of exhaust...

    Color that burn out!

Oy... Now they're designing tires to be deliberately shredded? Talk about cornering a market! Not a chance in HELL I'd ever do that (colored-smoke tires) to my '66 Olds, thank you. Or the MG, as they're notorious for snapping axle shafts.

Interesting R3 classic + sidecar rig

Y'know, there's a gentleman making the Manx buggies again. Your option as to air-cooled VW or Subaru power! Shortened, standard, and lengthened chassis. Or... he can build you an all-new one, including the chassis (which traditionally was modified from a defunct type 3). STI-powered Manx? That...

    Vmax

If that's true, then Yamaha = fail. C'mon, seriously? That's horrible mileage for any bike, save the Boss Hoss (and I'm pretty sure their early 4.3-powered ones would get that)! Don't like the way those things sound, stock. Needs exhaust. Looks great, but sounds... wheezy.

    D&D vs TORs?

Whoops. I missed that 'T'. Ok, disregard everything I said! There's a couple of vids of D&D's pipes on YouTube, on a Touring.

    D&D vs TORs?

The TORs are pretty noticeable right from the start. Downright ear-shattering if you're standing within ten feet of the most-seen end of the tailpipes. At idle, they're not overly loud, but will definitely get your attention. I'd guess somewhere in the low-90s, decibel-wise, at their loudest...

    Newbie to R3's

I've never met your dad, but I like him already! Anyone who has a 'grossly overpowered' 'bucket and a Rocket deserves my admiration! Do keep the Rock. It's fun to embarrass the sub-liter squids. :D

    D&D vs TORs?

Yep! Here's a sound clip of the TORs: Action vids are next, when I have time. Triumph claims the TORs, along with the cat delete pipe and tune (done at the dealer), will net you 20hp. They are, as you can see, a 3-3 setup. Because they are a factory offering, they fit perfectly. You do...

    New addition!

Definitely! That was one of the first characteristics I noticed with the Bonnie; its handling. Light (compared to my Rock, anyway...), easy to flick around, and I'm not worried about scrubbing the footboards! I took it up Hwy 20 a couple of days ago and played in the mountain roads. Complete...
