    GREAT New Tire Report

OK, so that brings up 2 questions. 1. Will a shop install a tire backwards ?? 2. So if you are running this tire on the front what tire do you run on the rear or what is the overall recommendation for the rear tire ??

    Rear Brake Line.

How do I go about bleeding the ABS ???

    Rear Brake Line.

I am not sure, to be honest. He just said that there was air in the system and that they bled them and they were fine but I still say they are not 100%. It just seems like there is something like a little resistance or something (almost like a metal feel), but not all the time. It almost seems...

    Rear Brake Line.

Something like that happened to me. Early summer when I finally pulled my bike out for the first time this year, I took her for a blast down the road and the first time that I hit the brake, the pedal seemed like it went down a little further than usual. One of the next times I took her out for...

    SHOCKS

Looking at the link from Progressive, it doesn't look like the 444's come apart the same way but I could be mistaken. Would you use that tool on the bottom of the shock, because the top is the adjustment end and is threaded but I don't believe that you can thread it the whole way off either ???

    SHOCKS

So if I were to order different springs for my 444's like the 125/170's would I be able to change them out or does it take special tools???

    SHOCKS

That is where I am at, It definitely handles better and a more sure ride but those bumps in the road can be killers as there is little to no give when I hit them. My body takes up all the shock! I can't even get 1" of sag with mine. I am going to try to find out more about the 125/170 springs.

    SHOCKS

I am no shock expert at all but I was really surprised that "Progressive Suspension" said that they could not put a lighter spring on the shocks. They said they did not have any springs that would work or fit. I thought they are a "SHOCK" or suspension building company! Just hard to believe. I...

    SHOCKS

I have the shocks backed all the way off and I can't get an inch of sag let alone 1.25" of sag. The guy that I spoke to at Progressive said that they did not have a lighter spring that they could install on the shocks. I kinda found that hard to believe too, but that is my luck !:banghead...

    SHOCKS

OK, I finally received my shocks back from Progressive. Looking at the numbers on the springs they have 1436 210/250 printed on them. I would assume that they would be the standard duty springs. I put all my weight on the shocks and they do not move the slightest bit and that is with the...

    SHOCKS

So they put the same springs on the 12" shocks that normally would be on the 12.5" shocks??? or do they put stiffer springs on the 12" shocks??? That doesn't make sense to me but not saying that you are not correct.

    SHOCKS

I went back through my emails of where I purchased them from and I ordered the black ones and I went with the 12" shocks and the part number was 444-229B. Does that sound correct??? I will have to wait till I get my shocks back from Progressive to verify those numbers on my shocks if they are...

    SHOCKS

Yea I did, and I will verify part number again. I had progressive shocks on my America and I was happy with them but these not so much! Not sure what I will do next.

    SHOCKS

I bought the 444's about a year ago as well and for me they do handle better than stock but when I tried to set up the pretension I backed them all the way off and still can't get an inch of sag. Mine seem really stiff and I cringe every time that I know I am going over a bump. I weigh 200lbs. I...

Progressive 444-4209 Standard Spring Rate 12.5"

So what are your thoughts on the Progressive 444's with the standard rate springs??? I too am getting ready to pull the trigger to upgrade my suspension. Also did you go with the Chrome or Black shocks??? I am trying to figure which ones I think would look better on the bike. Let me know. Thanks

What a difference a tire makes!

What tire are you going with in a 150/70R17? The only ones that I am seeing are all rear tires? Or did I open up that can of worms again???

    Bridgestone Rear Tire 240 55 16

This is what I have been talking about. According to the websites that I am looking at this is the G852 Excedra Radial Tire and not the Excedra Max. So which tire do I want to buy??? Has anyone tried both and can recommend one over the other ???

    R3R Seat change ideas

+1 on modifying your original seat. I was not aware of you doing this type of work and not sure how difficult it would be to send to Canada and return, but I used to have a 2002 Bonneville America that got uncomfortable after a while. Somebody on the TBA website mentioned another person that...

    Bridgestone Rear Tire 240 55 16

Can somebody post a picture or a link to the correct tire that I need to purchase? I am getting a little confused here. Everyone keeps saying Excedra Max. But some of the pictures that I have been seeing looks like the G852 Excedra Radial. I just want to make sure that I am ordering the right...

What a difference a tire makes!

Well, I haven't found an MC shop that I have full confidence in. The place that I plan on taking my bike to is no longer a Triumph dealer but they will still change tires. So I guess I will find out.
