  1. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

I took the bike out for a good long ride tonight, and the engine light didn't come on. Maybe the computer finally recognized that the O2 sensor was plugged in. In any case, the bike drove fairly well with no loss of power or bad idle. I'm hoping that it stays this way for a while! By the...
  2. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Would hooking up a bad O2 sensor still allow the bike to run ok, or would it have the same effect as having the bad bypass hooked up?
  3. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Decided to get down and dirty with the beast today. Lifted the tank...nothing loose, but did wiggle all the connectors. There were a couple of plugs that were unplugged though. Is that normal? Also, took off the side cover and exhaust cover. An O2 sensor was in place but wasn't plugged in...
  4. Quick question regarding the O2 sensor

So I guess that it's possible that even though the O2 sensor might still be installed, there might be a bypass on it as well?
  5. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Ok thanks, I'll give it a try...
  6. Quick question regarding the O2 sensor

Ok, anybody know where the O2 sensor is on the exhaust system? My bike's previous owner who was 'less than kind' to the machine, had a Power Commander on it, along with (I believe) aftermarket pipes (which have since been removed and replaced with the stock pipes. As the bike is now...
  7. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Yeah, you're probably right. Funny thing is, although this has got to be one of the more frustrating bike experiences I've had, I really like the Rocket. Somewhere inside this malfunctioning beast is a darn good bike trying to get out. It would really be kinda nice to finally find and fix...
  8. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Ok, just cleaned the crank sensor as you advised and unfortunately, no change. Still running rough. I tried something else though, and it seemed to make the bike idle smoothly. I remember that a friend of mine adjusted my throttle cable slightly when I complained of having no throttle play...
  9. Trailer hitch on a Rocket??

    Great, thanks for the info!
  10. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Will do and thanks again for the advice!
  11. Trailer hitch on a Rocket??

After seeing a pic on this forum of a guy standing in front of a Rocket with a trailer attached, I'm assuming that a hitch can be fitted. Anybody know if there's a kit available? Thanks!
  12. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Haven't cleaned the crank sensor yet, as I was going to have the dealer do it with my next oil change next week. Now that the bike is running rough again, I'm going to tackle the job myself. Thanks! By the way, the bike did have a Power Commander hooked up by a previous owner, but it's been...
  13. I was bummed before, now I'm just pissed!

Ok, so after spending a whack of cash and time a the dealer getting my bike to run right...it did, for about 2 days. After replacing the TPS and stepper (idler) motor, they recalibrated everything, and it seemed to magically run fine. I spent hours of blissful riding on a machine that ran like...
  14. TPS failing?

Sounds like what my bike was doing before having my TPS replaced. Try holding a steady speed. If it suddenly feels like it's loosing power and then 'catches' when you give it more throttle, it's what I was experiencing.
  15. New mods

Figures...that's why I didn't recognize the exhaust system. Apparently the Roadsters are fairly hard to get here in Canada. I talked to my dealer today and they're only getting 1 or 2 for the year. Also here, they're closer to $19,000.
  16. Now I'm really bummed...

No, not this time. I mentioned it to the tech and he suggested that we do that with the oil change I'm doing next week.
  17. Now I'm really bummed...

Well I've got my fingers crossed... Just got back from the dealer for the second time, where they replaced yet another stepper motor, recalibrated the TPS, and lo and behold, the bike seems to be running right! It's the first time since I've owned the bike, that's it's run smoothly, but it was...
  18. Now I'm really bummed...

Ok, interesting. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks again!
  19. New mods

Great looking bike! I really like the flat black treatment, which is a real favorite with a lot of exotic car owners up here in Vancouver. By the way, what exhaust system have you got on your bike? Looks nice and 'beefy'! How does it sound?
  20. Now I'm really bummed...

Ok, where is it, and how do you clean it??
