DIY Ignition Switch Repair - Get home, Keep Your Locks!

The first time I did this the plastic had simply melted enough to pinch the floating contact plate, I pushed it up into position and it worked for almost two years. It is now completely broken off and won't line up anymore. But when the new switch comes in I will simply replace these pieces and...

Now that the cap is removed you need to take out the contact board. There's again 3 points to unclip, but one has a particularly different setup, do this one first.

DIY Ignition Switch Repair - Get home, Keep Your Locks!

First off - I am no expert, I assume no liability for this information, this is simply documenting what I did in hopes that it may help you. I'll first post the hotwire I did almost two years ago. It got me home, but this does not turn on your headlights, turn signals, or brake lights. I'm...

Triumph Quit Ignoring Your Ignition Problems

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents. I had a failure about a year and a half ago, hotwired it (you may want to look up my previous post on this and save the photo to your phone, just saved me again today) and rode it back home. I then removed the switch and decided to tear it apart. What I...

URGENT broken down on the road

Here's what it looked like, I didn't experiment, worked right off the bat. Might have wrong ends and no fuse protection at all for all I know, but it worked. I made it to a buddys house and will rig up something more stable. Hopefully some dealer along the way will have a switch in stock. A big...

I'm moving to Florida and not taking my extra parts. I've got a set of never used stock pipes, all the stock intake parts, a tall windscreen (plastic only, no hardware), stock seat (front and rider), stock bearclaw. No catch, I will not ship, if nobody picks them up in the next two days the...

I posted in the classifieds but of course nobody ever looks there. I'm moving and have stuff in my garage to get rid of. Time is short before a big move across country so I'm not spending time to sell anything, just come and pick it up and it's yours. I will also not ship anything (sorry, a...

    Help!! Ignition tables

Yes, changing the maps to be identical to I3 will remove the torque limiter in the first three gears (combines with changing your secondary butterfly settings). The main power reduction comes from the advancement tables I1 and I2. For those less inclined to mess with your ECU the GiPRO will...

    Won't start - need advice

Haven't dug into it yet but I'm currently living at a hotel (out doing some military duties and no barracks) so my resources are limited. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. The bike was left out with a cover on for the first time and I had signs of heavy condensation. Turn...
