  1. Trunk

Sorry Hanso...I missed this. Thanks very much for the tips......You're right...too impatient. I will have another go in the not too distant future...then again, I might just take it to a pro for a better job at probably a cheaper price :D :D Pete
  2. Trunk

Took me about 30 rattle cans and about 6 complete resands Hanso.......and it's still not great ;) ;) Then, coz it wasn't great, I put a Mustang synthetic leather lid cover over it after a week or so.....Mustn't have been fully dry coz when I took the cover off a week ago, the material stuck...
  3. Trunk

    They're actually 1.25" Burleigh Bars......called 10" mini apes...39" wide.....absolutely perfect for my long arms.....the stock clutch cable fits (just...after rerouting :) ) Pete
  4. Wind deflectors, what are they.

Hahahahaha....don't worry about "honest" Hellfire, Motolink, he's just trying to prove that he'd make a good Aussie.......:D :D :D Even with a windscreen you'll find there's still some helmet buffeting on most bikes. This effectively comes up from underneath the bike and straight up into your...

  6. Trunk

You can also have a go at your own painting Hanso :)
  7. Greetings from the Keystone State

Yep...that situation on fuel indication is normal Docs. Once you drop battery power, the fuel level indicators reset to 0......they'll come back after you ride a few miles....(for obvious reasons, the bike can't estimate distance to empty unless it has some history on how quickly you are using...
  8. Hi from Townsville, Australia

Welcome from Sydney, Jayson (wish I was in Townsville....but not right at the moment ;) )....You'll find a whole pile of threads on secondaries, Tuneboy, etc, and you'll get plenty of good advice when you get stuck on a particular issue...just Holler (that was for our American friends :D ) Pete
  9. Dan Diego's Asphalt Adventure w/Photos!

Sorry to hear about your "off", Dandiego. Great to hear that the 2 of you have come out of it relatively unscathed. I had my big "off" 20 years ago when a cager turned in front of me with no indicator and am hoping that the percentages are in your and my favor now that it won't happen again.;)...
  10. Inner bags for R3 Touring

Thanks Rich...... After promising on their site that they were "coming soon" for the last 18 months, at lassssssst :D ......However, at 21x11x6 they just happen to be exactly the same size as the Electra Glide liners......It'll be interesting to see if they really are made for the Touring or if...
  11. Turned 50 today

    or, like me, BOTH........:D :D ?????? Pete
  12. Convince Me...?

ps.....I should have included - what if your Harley or Yamaha or Honda shop doesn't have the part ??? you wait.....
  13. Convince Me...?

Yep Gkiller....As Canberra says, Adelaide to Perth in OZ (of which the Nullabor Plains is a part) is 2000 miles or so, across mostly barren red dust desert (it also contains the longest straight stretch of road in the world). There are towns with populations of 20 people every 200kms or so, but...
  14. Fade Away

Yeah, but we won't be able to afford the fuel for them BC :D ....I also thought they'd never discontinue the Vulcan 2litre as it was a one of a kind, but guess what....they did this year.....apparently the market was buying the Kaw 1600/1700 motors. I've got my fingers crossed, but there's no...
  15. Turned 50 today

You should have kept quiet Jackson......I(and probably most others) thought you were just following the Scot's 50 theme and got what it was about. Now we ALL know better and think you're a bit slow :D :D :D Pete
  16. My bike threw up today

You devious minded bugger........But a definite possibility...:D Pete
  17. Why the Rocket over T-Bird

Ksquared has pretty much covered it Boale. You can't beat the hardbags that come standard with the R3T (and don't come standard on the T'Bird or Classic). With the 180 rear tire the R3T handles pretty well around town and on the open road. Like Canberra, I think the Classic and Roadster look...
  18. New decal pics

Great colour scheme Dennis. It's a similar one to my last bike (Kaw Vulcan 2000) and is a favourite of mine. I believe we can only get the traditional black and blue/black stripe on the T Bird out here in OZ (hope I'm not the "Richard" that Darryl is referring to). ps Welcome back and many...
  19. Triumph Boulevard Peak

I've got it Macrider. It doesn't actually serve any useful purpose wind wise(especially when you're 6'7"), but it does look better than leaving the headlight area naked (butt ugly) :D Pete
  20. Trunk

The Harley clone trunk from Scootworks does block the panniers if you are using the removable stock R3T rack Up-beat, as the trunk is quite wide. This can be fixed by using a 1" lifting spacer of some kind. The Mutazu is narrower, so it's quite likely it won't block the panniers. Pete
