Big relief there! I've been pretty lucky. I've rode through your neck of the woods last summer.. http://www.dawnanddave.net/images/sparks07/8AA.JPG but haven't had any dirt related electrical problems yet.. Ooops! Where's the wood to knock on before I jinx myself!.

Mis-Firing

I am having a similar problem below 3k OK above mis-fires, no power, backfires, etc.
Had been running OK the day before, including a couple of hours in the rain. Any ideas, guesses, etc.

mjbell1,

first, set aside 3-4hrs. go get 1-2 six packs of favorite beverage. 1-2 cans electrical contact cleaner. 1 can of silicone spray.1 tube of dielectric grease. then start disconnecting/reconnecting all electrical fittings you can find. purge and seal each fitting as you go. it's tedious, but well worth the time invested. have fun......

Mis-Fires

2007 Triumph Rocket III Classic Tourer:

Sounds exactly like my problem, lifted tank first coil wire I touched
just about fell off, but a crimp on all coil wires and checked all
connectors. Runs great again, definitely worth a check out.

don't know yet,Paul.

i put a new set of tires on and unknowingly dislodged the brake light harness.i went to scrub the tires in and rubbed through part of the harness . will probably redo the damaged part this morning. the good news is the 205 handles beautifully. the cobra is also very sticky. guess i should make a road trip and get some miles on this new set of tires.gotta fix the wire harness first. so,did you get a key yet? if you did ,i can bring the other stuff.

Goodfellow

No key yet.
So you haven't come up to British USA yet to have that work done you wanted yet? I talked with the new mechanic they have now and am not impressed. He seamed short and lakes people skills. He had no interest in talking to me about possible warranty things. Basically had a Hoo hum nothing I can do attitude, didn't like it at all.

Glad the new tire is working out like you hoped.

I don’t know if he’s a good mechanic or not, I just know he didn’t seam to interested in giving me any answers. I told him I see him in a couple weeks to do an oil change and address my problems. As far as were to go for service that’s a good one, because from what I am hearing all the Triumph dealers in Houston are shutting down. I do know a good Mechanic in TN.

I was hoping you would let me know if he was good or not when you went in.
