| | For those that want a headstart with a version of TunEdit similar to what is to be released it can be downloaded at http://www.tuneboy.com.au/TuneDownloads/TE.zip
I was under the impression that the tunes listed on the site were modified versions of the stock tunes. However that is not true.

You will be able to download standard and modified tunes, the ones listed at the moment are just the standard tunes.
We will include modified tunes on the CD.

| | | Something kind of interesting, when looking at the 20054/20097 Triumph stock tune. The secondaries are set the same for each gear however they vary with the RPMs. 0 = totally closed 255 = totally opened RPM/Setting 0/255 1500/255 1750/232 2000/170 2250/97 2500/87 2750/95 3000/102 3250/110 3500/128 3750/151 4000/222 4500+/255 It looks like the only time they are fully open is between 0-1500 and 4500+ They really close down during the "meaty" part of the powerband.

| | | Looking at the 20054 tune the secondaries are pretty much 1/3 to 1/2 closed up to 4500 RPMs in the first three gears. In fourth and fifth they are fully open. That would explain some of the difference between the 20050 and 20054 tunes.

| | | When looking at the German and French power limiting tunes the timing is retarded just a degree or two in a few of the cells of the ignition maps in the higher RPM ranges when compared to the other tunes, the fuel delivery is the same as the other tunes however the secondaries get cranked shut in the higher RPM ranges. So it appears Triumph relies mainly on the secondaries to limit power output to 96hp for the German tune and 104hp for the French tune. Which seems that the secondaries can account for more than the Triumph claimed 7% limit in power. Here is the secondary settings in fifth gear for the German tune. For comparision the 20050 tune has them fully open (255) all throughout the RPM range. 0 = totally closed 255 = totally opened RPM/Setting 0/255 1500/255 1750/255 2000/255 2250/255 2500/255 2750/255 3000/248 3250/218 3500/175 3750/116 4000/108 4500/102 5000/97 5500/95 6250/95 By doing the math the secondaries are only open 37% in the upper RPM ranges.

| | | I have gotten from Wayne at Tuneboy the definition for the different map tabs in the advanced user view of the new version of TunEdit. F1, F2, F3 are the throttle based fuel maps for each cylinder used by the ECU when the Throttle Position Sensor reads above 12%. L1, L2, L3 are the MAP sensor based fuel maps for each cylinder. They are used when the throttle opening is below 6% and the values are in millibars. When the throttle is between 6% and 12 % it "ramps" from using MAP to TPS. I1, I2, I3, I4, are I1= neutral ignition map, I2= 1st gear ignition map, I3, 2nd gear ignition map, I4= 3rd-5th ignition map. I know, this doesn't mean much now, however hopefully down the road it will come in handy for those interested in TuneBoy.

| | This is good stuff Pig9r. I would like to get the Tuneboy, but for now I'm just enjoying my ride just as it is. Thanks for all your work here. Note: Spellchecker suggests "piggery" for Pig9r. Are you trying to tell us something? |

| | | Thanks for the remarks guys.
I ordered the Tuneboy last Mon and received an email stating they have been inundated with orders and that it would ship before the end of the week, if not sooner. I was provided with a tracking number. A check today of the tracking number shows no info. Anyone who has ordered internationally from them received their's yet or at least have tracking info yet? It was supposed to be shipped by courier to arrive within 2 to 5 days.

| | Ok I got this response today: Quote: I'm very sorry you haven't received your TuneBoy kit yet. We had a delay with the documentation and your order has not left yet. It is most definitely leaving today. We felt it better to make sure everything was correct rather than sending out a product that wasn't quite right. Thankyou for your patience. Best wishes, Emma | I guess I can't complain about that.
