R3T w/Tuneboy Dyno Results

I finally got the time to take my R3T to the dyno yesterday to see how the new Tuneboy tune was working. The results were pretty good, 110HP/140TQ. However the bike was running too lean (approaching 16:1), above 5000 RPMs.

I sent Wayne a copy of the dyno sheet and when I woke up this morning I had a new tune in my inbox. In my book, that's excellent customer service.

Took a run back over to the dyno this morning and the A/F ratio was down below 14:1 for the full run. The results were 117HP/138TQ. Interesting that the torque was down just a bit, but it did maintain a higher level longer with the richer tune.

My goal when I started was to regain a good portion of the lost horsepower on the Touring model. Given that the magazine tests I've read range from 80.5/122 to 93.5/139 I think I've achieved this. Also, with most magazine tests you don't know what kind of dyno they used. My results were from a Dynojet 250. I would suspect that the remaining power loss over the Standard/Classic models could be attributed to the different throttle body and possibly the different exhaust configuration.

For the record, along with the Tuneboy tune, I have D&D exhaust, drop in K&N filter, and have removed the under seat snorkel.

Your results seem pretty good. I dyno'd my 2007 tourer when it was completely stock and it came up with 113hp. You would seem to be right in the neighborhood of the non-touring models.

That looks very comparable to my bone stock 500 mile service dyno run with 121.5 hp and 133.12 ft/lb tq. Dink said that they average around 126 hp. or so after break in.

Thanks guys, you don't see a lot of dyno numbers from completely stock bikes. It looks like Wayne is on a mission now. After I sent him my latest dyno sheet he sent me 5 more tunes to try. I need to start a collection to help pay for dyno time....

Triumph Accessory Muffs

First time poster here so go easy.
I recently traded my R3 for a new Touring and I’m looking to recapture some of the lost hp (who isn’t). There seems to be some good info on the D&Ds for the R3T but no dyno results for the Triumph “Accessory Mufflers” with K&N filter & Tuneboy. Has anyone compared the two?
I’m all for performance, but the D&Ds look like someone took a hacksaw to a sewer pipe … and then chromed it.

I also wonder what the Triumph "accessory mufflers" sound like. My Touring's too quiet w/ the stock pipes. Fish

What model are you talking about? My stock Classic with cat bypass and triple K&N's did 135 h.p.and 146 t.q. Are your numbers on a Touring or other model?

I think that would be about right with your mods, Bagster said his was bone stock (i.e. stock mufflers, stock cat, stock air box.

My 2007 Rocket III Clasic Tourer made 135HP/143TQ with Pig9R tune including PCIII
fuel mapping. Runs great no decell problems.
