what do you want to use the outlet for?

I went with the OEM BMW style plug because there is a huge variety of BMW accessory stuff out there, and a lot of them don't have the cigarette lighter-type jack as an option. If you don't have a BMW jack you have to set up some kind of battery connection. I already had some Gerbing heated clothing with the BMW plug-much easier. BTW, the plug occupies the same spot as the Rivco side ignition switch if that is on your wish list.
