Talking Genuine 'top speed' shop standard R3T

Evening all

Anyone able to give a 'realistic' top speed of a standard R3T?
Was wondering what the clock reading would be should one wind it out on the freeway?

Regards Carey J

I've been to 134 when I let off, no more room Have yet to just let it all hang out. I'm sure someone in here has.

P.S. Mine is a standard.

Most of the reviews have said 200 kph or 124 mph. Also if the odometer is optimistic like on the standard model you can figure on subtracting about 7% from the reading. The tires are speed rated to 120 mph correct?

I have exeeded 140 mph w/out my windshield and over 130 with it on. There is a particular section of I-295 in Maine that has a nice long 2+ mile down hill run that has no place for troopers to hide.
I am not sure how accurate the speedo is because one of my trip meter readings was clicking of 1 mile every couple of miles at one point. This bike is not about top end, from 0-100 though there is nothing like it. I love it.
Too bad my foot is broken and I can't get on it.

139 & change...................

I took my '06 R3Classic completely to the end of the speedometer once, on US 23 south bound. It's straight and flat for around 10 miles north of the Ohio line. Was just showing a V-Rod my tail light. Pigger told me the Classic was speed limited to 120 or so, so I presume I don't have the stock tune. That was with the windshield and the lowers. Takes a long time and lots of real estate from 120 to the end. Once was more than enough. Lets see...150 x 7%=139 and change.

It wasn't done, but I was.

Since then, I've never had it above 80 (indicated)

Your question asks about the 'standard R3T'. Are you asking about the Rocket 3 Standard or the Rocket 3 Touring?

The Rocket 3 Touring is indeed speed limited to 120 and does have H rated tires. I've seen 115 on my GPS and you could feel it flatten out. I didn't have enough road left to hold the throttle open to see if I could squeeze out a few more.

Just Once..

We (meaning myself and some VN2000 Kawasaki buddies) went on a cruise....hit a straight stretch on a very nice County road in Franklin County. I wanted to see how long the fat bottom girls legs really were.
Rolled on the throttle..no dead spots anywhere...just pulled hard. I noted after a few seconds the bike seemed to be getting light and moving around some. When I looked down the speedo said 135+. This was after I started playing with tune-ups, speedo correction and all that. She had a lot more....I exercised good judgement and let off.
That's as fast as I ever want to go on two wheels. What a rush......SB.
P.S. I went on a couple of miles and stopped at a stop sign to wait for the VN2000 crowd to catch up. HMMM...not much commentary from them though..

Yeah.......right.

My '03 Bonnie without the sidecar will run with an 1800 VTX...I know, my BIL has 2 plus a Rocket. I've dragged him a couple of times.....Course the Bonnie isn't stock either.

With the sidecar on, I've had it to 85. That's fast enough. Even my little KLR will supposedly do 100....never tried that.
