Genuine 'top speed' shop standard R3T

Thanks guys, interesting responses, my Rocket is the Touring model, 600kms only so really haven't done anything but idle down the freeway, thought I would ask about the top speed rather than give it a run in the early days. I guess that answers your question GPMAZ, I also have a 2005 T100 Flip, shop standard so to speak, and while it has great acceleration thought it had so-so top speed, perhaps another gear or several more cogs maybe. I have an EZS sidecar on order from Holland for the R3T so intend giving it, the tug, a shove in the preceeding 8 weeks pre-delivery period to sort out any obvious warranty problems before I attach the chair. Will have to find some motorway once the power plant loosens up, high speed roads are something we are short of here in Australia, those are not used as revenue earners anyway, again thank you for the responses.

There is quite a bit of sidecar related information there. I'd also suggest Dr. Hal Kendall's book or CD on sidecars, their peculiar handling quirks and especially mounting them. Hal is an expert on mounts and alignment. You can purchase the book or CD right from the website.

Because the R3's engine is a stressed member of the frame, you'll need to fabricate a lower frame for the bottom 2 mounts of the 4 point mount. I believe Mary Sontag at Motorvation Engineering www.motorvationengineering.com has already designed and fabricated a lower mount. Mary and company are extremely helpful. Jay Geese out in Washington State also does subframes and both Mary and Jay sell clevis mounts and joints you'll need to do the attachment.

I did some modifications to my T100 in the interest of a bit more power. I got rid of the AI, did a port and polish, drilled the slides and had a custom stainless steel exhaust system fabricated. I don't like the 'kink' in the exhaust. My new system looks 'period' with the stainless headers (ceramic coated) and the pea shooter mufflers, straight through, of course. I'm running one tooth down on the countershaft (still pulls the chair just fine with the engine mods I might add) with a 'Loobman Chain Oiler' to keep the rear wheel as well as the chain oiled.
