Every now and then I pull the bike cover off my old Z1300 start her up and give it a clean. While I'm at it I go over the big unit, great way to clear the head after a busy week. Riding is better but no time today. Hopefully tomorrow. The Zed feels like a posties bike compared to the Rocket when I ride it now. I've owned the Zed since Oct 1990 and have had some great rides and great times on it, hence why its still in the shed. The Rocket is the best bike that i have owned, but its lead me to ask, what's your favourite pre Rocket era bike. Please post a pic of the bike that led to R3 ownership for a bit of fun. Chris

CLAY I still own 3 KZ1300 Kawasakis a 1979 ,an 81 and an 82 great bikes that seemed so big years ago but are small compared to the ROCKET

I remember selling my '70 Bonnie and buying a '73 Norton Commando and wondering if I had made a mistake going to such a big heavy bike!
My all time favourite? A toss up between the Commando which I still own and my '94 Sprint. The Sprint was an amazing sport tourer and could cover huge amounts of ground with great wind protection and at high speeds. Bullet proof and a fantastic bike in its day.

Had one very similar to this back in the day (HD rear, king/queen saddle, ram's horn pullbacks, front kicked out a bit further), but mine was an F model with the original exhaust... Honda Motorcycles Brand Sales $6,500 , Honda from Hesperia, CA, 1973 Honda Cb 750 750 - GJ18.COM

This is the closest image i could find to how she looked - quite the head turner, she was!

Nice, I think I appreciate these bikes even more now days. Wouldn't mind having one in the shed.

Wow 3 Zed 13s not many of the old girls around anymore. It stuns me how small she feels after being on the big girl. Mines pretty much stock still right down to the manufacturers stickers, thinking of joining one of the local historical bike clubs and riding it occasionally with them.

The Z1300... dream bike of my teenage years. Still nice to look at - and a blast to ride, for sure.

I had many bikes, but when I look back the first thing that comes to my mind is my old GSX1100L, the rare cruiser sister of the Katana. I think it was a '82, and I had to renovate it completely when I got it in the mid 90s. Badass cruiser.
My Valk was also not bad at all, but I sold it in 2004 or so, after eating the dust of a BMW M3 on the German Autobahn.
In the early days I had a Goldwing 1000, very nice to remember that one as well.
