North Georgia in say...Octoberish?

So, despite the objections, will Columbus Day (Friday 9 October through Monday the 12th) weekend work for enough to reach a critical mass ? Is there really too much traffic in the area that weekend to make it practical ?

And, @R3Tex did you try TwoWheelsSuches and get no response ? They show a number of events on their calendar, though nothing past September.

Hi Paul,
We would enjoy hosting your group at TWoS. Our website has photos of the campground, cabins and lodge rooms for your group to view. Also all our rates are posted on the website as follows:
Camping: $15 per night per tent, plus $7 for each additional person in the same tent.
Lodge rooms: $55 per night and additional bed used in the room add $10.
Cabins: $55 per night, they each have two twin beds.
Electrical hookup: if your pulling a small camper behind your bike and camping $20 per night, plus additional $7 per person in same tent, per night.

Note: taxes added where applicable.

All linens provided in cabins and lodge rooms. Reservations required for cabins, lodge rooms, and electrical hookup, not for camping

I hope this helps but feel free to call Mary at reservations 706-973-1671 to check on availability. Also, like us on FaceBook so you can view more photos and upcoming events.

Thank you,

Keep in mind October camping is cold in the mou gains. Also the cabins are twin beds. That means one person per bunk. Couples will have room for them only. If y'all stay there I believe I will stay with Rob and Gabbi as I enjoy some comfort. Ime too **** old to rough it anymore.

I said before, I'll go with the weekend @JoseyR3Wales picks. I'm too old to worry about how I use my vacation, and though my wife is a school teacher and most schools have the attitude "You have all summer off, don't bother us with requests now", I'll tick off a few more items on the honey-do list and convince her to go -- and of course, after she meet's y'all, it'll all be settled. (and enjoys @JoseyR3Wales cooking).

Fine line between too many mosquitos and too cold.

I defer to y'all.

If I may, the second to third weeks of October are the most beautiful here. Also crowded with caged tree peekers.

Hotels will start booking fast after the 4 th and going into August because folks want to escape the heat and it's the prime time to get away one last time before the BIG holiday season and family obligations.

We will NEVER AGREE on a date that works for everyone interested. To help R3Tex folks and the Two Wheel Lodge, let's set a date like the weekend of October 17/18 and get as many as possible to sign on. This will allow ALL involved in planning their respective travel plans.
If you can't make it, we'll see you on the next one. Its not a life or death party. Honestly.

I will be glad to take a day and provide my cooking skills and have a dinner for for kings and queens upon your return from riding. Your contribution will be the cost of a fancy burger at a fast food joint which would pay for the "raw materials" that I would prepare. For instance, Saturday evening we are having a low country boil (look it up) and bananas foster cheesecake here on the mountain, I am the chef. Its up to y'all. I do award winning baby backs (wanna see the trophies), from scratch fruit cobblers, roasted corn on the cob or seafood kabobs or teriyaki skewered chicken or even veg dishes. I enjoy doing this.

We can tow the cooking gear and stuff to where ever. No problem. Rain or shine, no problem.

Lets pick a date and see how many can adjust. I turn 59 on the 13th of October and I'll even do this the weekend before the 17/18 but the tree colors tend to be best from mid to late October and it's majestic here.

To quote someone else, this is a lot like herding cats and taking too long. Man up y'all, let's agree to one of those two weekends.

Just trying to help, seriously. I'm out now because I said enough and we're coming if y'all can agree and make it easier on R3Tex and the accommodations folks.

Sorry to be blunt but that's just me. I've had 300 pounds of baby backs on my smoker at one time.

I can fix about anything to dine on. Party favors too.

If we can get this cemented, it would be great. I would be open to a spring run into Pennsylvania for a much needed change of venue.

The other Apple pie. I make the pie dough too
