Waco does sound like a good hook up point.

It's 3 hours for Ridin'Sunshine and Bear.
It's 3 hours for me as well.
and it's no time for Snuff, so he can sleep in.. lol

From there, we can take Hwy 31 and avoid the Interstate all the way to Texarkana?

About 5 hours from Waco to Texarkana...

Talking

Where in Waco? My dealer is there. I had planned on stopping in to say "hey" to them. It has been a long time since I have been there. Really nice guys at EuroShop of Waco.

As far as the route you where talking..sounds fine to me. But I am not that aggressive on curves. Just aggressive on straight aways. So all of you aggressives can lead. ha ha. Don't worry twisties are ok with me. We do them here, I just don't get in a rush around them. Mostly due to my lack of experience and things that can cause problems, such as gravel, critter dead or alive, lack of visual around the curve, etc.

Sounds good to me. I've enjoyed the Euro Shop when I've visited there. Even have the T-Shirt!.. Was really, really tempted to buy a Speedmaster that they had customized when I was there once. It was really, REALLY sharp. If it had been this new 1600 coming out, I would probably be riding it!..

A warning from tdragger. He PM'd me since he's not a member of the Lone Star Group yet. I think it's pretty funny actually..lol Wouldn't want to have it happen to us though!..

tdragger.. I lived in Austin in from 86 to 1993, stationed at Bergstrom AFB..

"I'm not set up to post to the Lone Star Group so I'll just send it to you directly.

"When I lived in Austin, we would ride up to Ark on occasion. Beautiful area that you are going to. A word of caution, though, because it really did happen to me.

Some gas stations in Ark will not sell gas to anyone with Tx plates when Univ of Texas and Ark are scheduled to play. It looks like the group will be there the weekend before UT and Ark play. I would advise that you go north up through eastern OK to avoid any problems.

Seriously, this happened to me back in the late '80s. I pulled into a gas station and walked up to pre-pay and the lady said "We are out of gas." I turned around and looked at all the other people pumping gas and knew right away what was going on. I drove across the street to another station and the person acknowledged that the first station was known for refusing to sell to Tx plates."

Maybe they will be too busy looking at the awesome bikes and not the tags?
We could fill up before we get to that part of the ride?

And I don't know about OK. Their cops have had a history of looking for TX plates, too. I think I would rather deal with the gas station....one time when I was a teen my dad was driving us to Walters OK to visit one of my grandmas and one of their lovely troopers pulled him over for going one mile over the speed limit and gave him a ticket. When I was 19 I lived near OK City for nearly a year and those people are not nice to us Texans. The only people that were nice to me where people that moved there from other states. Let me tell you, when I moved back the first thing I did was kiss my good old Texas dirt. Second thing was to buy me a new pair of white tennis shoes. That red clay stained every thing I had when I was living there.
