| | Sorry guys. I have been out of the loop for awhile. Bear had his back surgery last week.
I was looking at the map and I like the New Boston that Dave mentioned. And it being close to I30 we might have a variety of lodging to pick from. Texarkana was just an initial suggestion. I haven't looked at motels or anything for there. I have ex-in-laws that live there so if that is where we want to be I planned to call them and tell them what I would be looking for in a motel and see if they had suggestions. Cheap, Clean, and doors/windows from the rooms directly to the bikes.
But the bad thing about Texarkana is that would put us coming in deeper to Arkansas. And there is at least one Okie that wanted to meet up with us. I think if we come in like Dave suggested from New Boston that will put us closer to the Okie/Arkansas border making it easier for them to meet up with us to finish the ride in to Eureka Springs. But we don't want to come up through OK. The friends we are coming with said that road is not a very good ride.
Don't think Bear will be coming along. His recovery isn't going to be as quick as he thought and even if he comes in a cage I think that ride might be pretty long for him. And if he doesn't come along our friends may bail out. But I still plan to go. If I go by myself that leaves me wide open to possibilities to meet up with anybody. But we will cross that bridge closer to the actual ride.
Anyway, if you are looking for votes on the meet up place for us Texans I vote for New Boston. But what ever the majority decides. I have my handsful right now with Bear's recovery and my job.

| | | Texarkana was just easier for us because it was a straight shot up 59 but New boston is only 1/2 hour west of there so what ever the magority wants. |

| | | I'm going to map out a route or two using the Allstate Garage advertised here, if I have connectivity at home tonight.. lol Y'all should check it out, it's really pretty neat!
I've tried to use it here at work, but it gets this "Initialize" state and just sits there.
Like y'all, I'm open either way.. Who's the Okie? We'll let him make the decision, since none of us are capable of doing so.. lol If he's coming to join us we can choose New Boston. If not, we can keep on heading to Texarkana? |

| | This hurricane is a wussy hurricane. Here, I went out and put down fertilizer/weed control in the front yard knowing for SURE the rain was coming. The forcast was for 90-100% chance of rain. I'm betting now that we get less than 1/2 inch of rain off of this thing.. Come on, is that all ya got? Shoot, I could have rode the Rocket to work today.. Quote:

| | XHDSKIP was the Okie. I vote that if he still wants to meet up with us part way that we plan on New Boston. But if not lets plan on Texarkana. Since that will help the League City riders to meet up in Texarkana.
Also, I looked for motels in New Boston on-line and found a very very small selection. I am thinking Texarkana would have a larger selection since it looks to be larger town on Texas map.
We didn't get near enough rain from that storm either.
edited: read my next post before voting. Perhaps we have a plan.
