Riders of the Darkside, grace me with your knowledge! What kind of tire pressures are you guys running on both front and rear tires? I'm currently running 41 psi in both the front and rear and handling is quite good. (I've always run max pressures in my front tires on any bike) The Cooper i currently have on the bike has a max of 44 psi, but i'm curious what other Darkside runners have experimented with. 42 on the rear, 34 on the front. However, my new mechanic advised me last week that I should run 38 on the front (to delay cupping). However, I'm get 10K miles out of the fronts, so I'm not really sure there's much benefit to me. I enjoy the handling I've been getting running the book pressures. although, i have no idea if i'm a rider of the darkside

42 rear and 36 front.

I got 13k out of a stock front, running irregular 36 but I will make a concerted effort to keep it at 36 these days. Remember: 1 PSI increase/decrease for every 10 degrees F from the temperature at time of refill plus (algebraically) 1 psi loss per month.

I run DynaBeads in the rear alone (no extra weights) and it's as smooth as glass. It hasn't been long at all since the darkside took me away. The next front change out I'm going to the beads in the front as well.

I VERY much like the normal ride profile (comfy w/ no counter steering of a stocker rear); I say this Cooper Zeon 2XS is a STRAIGHT tracker. If there is any crown in the lane you will be increasing you muscle mass. I love it in any case. No doubt the full torque is NOT sloughing off aswas clearly the case with the soft Metzler.

Though, I won't trade it for 2 years of stockers skins. Make that three years of stockers. I've put a lot of miles on my FBG thus far and I find no satisfaction in the regular recurring PITA of replacing a stock Metz. F'em. I ride as hard as I like now and don't give a...care about melting off the rear. The fact is, it DON'T happen.

Greenbaron, I take it from your last statement in your post you are not sure if you are a "Darksider". If you are running a car tire on the rear wheel...you have gone over to the "dark side" and are a "Darksider". Hope this clears that up.

If the "slightly" rounder profile of the 2XS were employed in that Cooper Eagle Wannabee I'd be right there...now! The "rounded" profile of the Zeon 2S, like a tire is suppose to be square otherwise, is acctually rounded "shoulder profile". But the center line rib will keep you tracking straight.

On crowned roadways...just call me popeye, it takes leverage.

I've given thought to going to 44 cold. Regular tire pressure checking is a MUST. Particularly for those that last checked two months ago and the temps are soaring now.

You know, you folks DownUnder (Oz), the reverse is true as well. The value is argued that nitrogen filled tires will not suffer the ill effects of temperature and osmosis.

If you are down under and running a car tire wouldn't that be on the lightside.

I run 41 front, I started running 34, or what ever the bike spec is and it cupped in less than 3000 miles. As soon as I noticed the cupping I bumped it up to the max recomended by Metz. It actually took some of the cupping out.(the old "fixed itself" syndrome) and I ran it to about 10,00 miles. The new front has only about 2000 on it and it still looks like new. I run 32psi on my rear Goodyear F1. I have almost 10,000 on it and there are little signs of wear In fact I still can see a center mold mark. I am thinking 32 might be a little lite and have bumped it up to 36psi. I tried up to 38 when I first put it on and thought it made the shoulder to hard or pronounced. I am still up in the air (no pun intended) about the proper pressure. But I am convinced this is the only way to go with a bike that has an appetite for rubber like the rocket.

Gunshots, I too ran low psi (l-m 30s) for a short while. A 42 psi rear stock isn't suppose to take any, if any at all just a smidgen, of side wall flex. The bounce is suppose to be all in the shocks.

I have absolutely no qualms about stocker shocks. They work for me.
