| Mods affect warranty?? Well I dropped my bike into the dealer this morning because it sprung an oil leak the other day from the head gasket. This had recently be fixed (few months back) under warranty so I assumed it would be the same again, especially as the gasket had a bit protruding from the previous work. This hinted to me it might not have been fitted correctly, but I never thought much of it to be honest (until it started leaking).
Dealer just called and said it would NOT be covered this time because of the mods I've done to engine. He referred specifically to pod filters, removal of secondaries, something about removing the speed limiter and also the Dobec. These he said had caused excessive crakcase pressure and that had blown the gasket out and that he wouldn't be able to ask Triumph to cover it. Cost will be about $300.
Hard to know what my options are - any advice?
I was going to mention something mildly amusing but I'm not in particularly good humour so it's more a winge now. I asked for loner bike and they gave me a Roadster!! Not quite to yippee moment I expected though. It's a Sachs Roadster 650. Maybe part of their strategy is to make sure I want to get my bike back so quickly I won't die in a ditch over who pays for the repairs.
F*** it.
The only up-side is I get the bike back today. |

I have never had a problem with my dealer down here I woul be calling his bluff and I was told that Triumph only had aproblem with TuneBoy cos it interfered with the ecu your Dobbec does not it is no difference in that regard to a PC3 which I was told Triumph had no problem with here its the Peter Stevens (Triumph Australia) National Warranty guys "Chris" No 03 93819754 give him a ring | "Power, Who Wants Power?

| Just so You guys know I had the choice of going to Anders up near Richard or to my dealer at Nowra and Anders is closer by a couple of Klm but by his reputation and my conversations with him when I was making enquires and then the welcomeing response I got from "My Dealer" " Nowra Motorcycles" and his reputation which was backed up with the way they looked after my Honda St1100 when I needed it fixed, I made the right choice.
I won't reveal Richard's dealers name it is easy enought to find he is the only one in Queanbyan which is just over the border between the ACT and NSW | | |
