Headlight adjustment

Well I tried to adjust my headlights according to an article that I read. First you measure the center of headlight from the ground and draw a line on a wall at that height and have the lights 25' from the wall. Then draw another line 2" below the first line. The low beam should shine on the lower mark with the top of the cut off line of the lights. The high beam should hit the upper mark with the top of the cut off line. To get the low beams where they should be the bracket is bottomed out. This puts the high beams way above their mark. In fact to get high beams where they "should" be according to this "how to" article the low beams would be in the dirt. I don't see any way around this adjustment delima since the low/ high beams are in the same bucket and not independant of one another. Has anybody else come across this problem?
P.S. The Adjure lights do put out a much nicer/brighter light pattern.

I removed my tank yesterday to find out that the dealer had left my air box uncoupled. So I removed the entire air intake system and cleaned it out with a rag soaked in carb cleaner. While I was there I installed new plugs. Now despite cycling the switch to build fuel pressure several times the bike will not start. Guages sweep, fuel pump primes, then cranks but doesn't try to start. checked connections and broke the fuel line loose at the tank several times to bleed any air but no change. Any one have any ideas before I head to the dealer?

Metzler Tyres - What a fuck about

I have finally, and i mean finally after a month of trying, managed to get a new set of metzlers fitted to my rocket.
Didnt want them avons, after hearing stories of recalled tyres, so wanted to stick on the mettys.
Started looking into tyres at the start of august before my hols and got some quotes, £290 fitted and ballanced the best i had for a pair.
When it came to actually getting the tyres, bugger me
Sold out sold out sold out.
My tyre fitter said the back tyre wasnt hard to get hold of, but a front was like chicken teeth, the only place that had one charged him a premium to get it resulting in an extra £25 on the price, thus total cost £315 for a pair.

Note to self. Save up some money and buy another set before i need them to avoid this happening again.

the story im told is because of the avon recall issue, folks are having metzlers fitted instead and hence they have sold out their lot and have made as many as they were planning to make for this year. Due to start making some more soon though.

So anyone else had this or as per normal have i been scammed?

Thoughts?
Daz

I emailed them over a month ago requesting a quote for leather touring seat for R3R, and never heard back. Do i have to place an acutal order before they respond? if anyone has ordered from them, please comment on quality and lead+delivery times to US.

I am very interested in their Deluxe Touring seat (with Sissybar and Rack), but pre-sales support has been non-existent so far.
Thanks,

Bought a rocket 3 classic recently and love the bike my only critiscism is it one seriously clunky gearbox, first to second really clunky[ i know most bikes are like this in this paticular gear] but then second to third seems even worse one serious clunk, reminds me of the wife slamming the door when she ffinds out im blowing more money on bike stuff:) but then rest of the gears up the box not quite so bad, dealer told me they all do this and should improve with mileage, my bikes on 2800 miles ,and still seems the same, is there a reason why those first two gears are worse then the rest? heard the rocket 3 tourer box isnt so clunky?
