Handlebars

Is it just me or does the angle that the grips/handlebars are is not "ergonomically" correct? I think something at more of a right angle to the bike would be easier on my wrists and the heels of my palms. I feel like my elbows have to be tucked into my ribs or my wrists have to be turned outward. Anyone else have the same problem? Those that have switched bars, what do you have, why did you switch and what are your results. BTW I am referring to the classic bars. Thanks.

handle bars

hey brian,
i had the same issue going on with my 'classic' bars.i never did get them to fit quite right. i've been riding drag pull backs' for so long that any thing else just won't work.
the t-bars did well for me. i needed more reach, and these provided that. much more comfortable crouch over the tank.i'm happy. you don't necessarily need to go t-bars,you can get the same results like sam did by going with after market risers and drag/sportster bars. sam pretty much has it nailed with the bars.

I have handle bar issues as well, I get tennis (throttle) elbow and the risers (rivco) thus far have not helped.

I have the same issue, its a twist outward on the grip. I have slight problem with "Carp in the Tunnel" but at time is is quit painfull. I have an 06 Classic with Rivco risors, I think it (risors) made it worse and have contemplated taking them off. I have heard that the bars off the Valk will fit. In this case maybee Honda had a better idea.

I have the classic with footboards so anything more "sporty" wouldn't suit my set up. I really just want something that the angle of the grips is at 90 degrees to the bike and not angled inward.

I'm with the stock bars idea i have a standard r3 when i layed mine down i got a screaming deal on classic bars so i went with it and have not been thrilled since. so i think stock bars are in order.

I rode my 01' Valk yesterday for about 175 miles through the country twist and turn backroads....my right wrist is killing me today. Honda (at least this one) has less angle to the tree than my R3 does. I don't think that the Valk bars are the cure but would make the ergonomic problems worse....IMHO....SB.
