I walked into European Cycle in Ft Worth and told them I wanted them to take off the stock crash bars and replace them with bars that would do some good. They replaced them with some after market ones that were marked as $250. The are a LOT stronger. I don't know if they would reach around your extensions.

I have had my rivco ones on for about five years not as thick as the Triumph bars but a lot better quality than the first bars that Triumph brought out, the first bars were so bad you could not even install foot pegs on them as the welds were breaking.
