| | | I have mentioned on other threads and am still wondering What is the proper Idle speed for the Rocket. I have heard as low as 400 RPM and have seen min as high as 1200 ?
1. Is there a correct RPM
2.Does removing the cat box make a difference
3 What do other captains refer to as normal (speaking strictly of Idle RPM here, with no referance to sheep) |

3 What do other captains refer to as normal (speaking strictly of Idle RPM here, with no referance to sheep) | Triumph has messed with it so much at this point, I like it no lower then 825, and no higher then 950. That seem to be where they wind up when set up right. Triumph originally wanted a bit of a "lope" at idle, but must have realized it was a problem.
Removing the cat box should change in the idle speed if the map isn't changed, but not drastically being the stock mufflers are still restrictave. |

| | While you're here.... Is the Triumph tool the only way to balance the throttle bodies? With tuneboy you can get the map sensor readings for each.. Can they be adjusted w/o the tool?
By the way, if you solve all of our issues what are we going to have to complain about???

Issues If I can find things to complain about the bikes without owning one, I'm sure you folks could keep my nights busy |

| | Idle "Fixed" I brought my '05 in for a 500 mile service (at 4500 miles). While there the dealer gave it a fix for the idle problem that was part of a recall. It had no problem w/ idle when I brought it in. Now it starts hard and idles the same. |

| | | confused I had the poor idle problem and took it to the dealer after reading that there was a bulletin on the issue. The dealer fixed it for free. He wouldn't tell me what he did but since I've not had the idle problem since, I'm less curious. | | | |
