I'm glad this question was asked. I wear a 11.5 5E shoe/boot , anyone have an idea where I can get a good riding boot. I buy my work boots from Hitchcock, but they don't seem to be sturdy enought for riding.

I have Red Wing motorcycle boots but they only come in EE. Harley and Triumph boots come in regular.

I'm not surprised you have the side zipper, they no doubt work better than lug boots on piano pedals. With the exception of mock jumper boots I can't think of another lug sole boot with a zipper up the side. Though I wore a pair of patent leathers for years.

Like PaulH has said, this is addressed. I like the cheap price, shoe look and wear-ability of Xelement's products.
But perhaps you were looking for that Michelin dough boy look. Check into crouch rocket gear. Perhaps they carry toboggan lengths Years ago I had a pair of light weight pair of aluminum frame snow shoes that came in handy. I'd be willing to donate them but, I 'm sorry I don't have them anymore. I gave them to my brother in Idaho.

I have been happy with the Triumph Sympatex Explorerer II Boot viewable on Triumph's website. My dealer let me try them before purchase for sizing. They list on the website at at $165 US, expensive I know, but I'm going into my 2nd year w/ them. My 1st mc boot so nothing to compare to...

Yes those are nice. Are they really non slip?
I also like the "Short Zip" boots from Cruiserworks recommended by PianoMan, a bit on the pricey side, but if they indeed bite the floor like a pitbull as they advertise, I like that.
I like velcro and zippers for shoes and boots, easyful to put them on and take them off.

I remember wearing shoes and sneakers that really "bited" the floor, even shiny wet marbel likesidewalks where I almost banged my head while wearind other shoes... So this is important for me in my decision.

This is terrible....

Whatever is sitting in the bathroom under the tub. Preferrably something that the dogs haven't used as a chew toy, In other words, whatever is comfortable.

You are buying the wrong boots. Whoever came up with the notion that motorcycle boots were uncomfortable to walk in had poorly fitted boots.
