The annual cost of a rear tire has persuaded me to go over to the dardside. It's just a matter of a couple months and I will be there. I'm approaching both front and rear brake pad replacement also. Anyone with a good cost source on pads will be appreciated.

Man you guys are lucky in the states.
I just paid the rediculous figure of $574 fitted. $449 for the tyre the rest was fitting charges.
I guess in Alice Springs the bike shops have a captive audience

I have ordered a stand so i will be able to remove the wheels myself for the next tyre replacement.

You live and learn. Never again will I pay that much for 1 tyre.

Cheers Bart

One thing to remember about brake pads and that is they need to be made of a friction material that's compatible with the rotors, in other words soft. If you use the EBC HH pads, the pads will last a long time but you rotor won't and I'd much rather replace pads than rotors. The pads are a lot cheaper. If ound out about the HH scenario with my sidecar. That rotor is 180 bucks.

I picked up my brake pads at the dealer, and the HH pads are what he recomended as stock replacement. 11,000 miles and they were wore down to the center groove

If anyone does put the new Avon rear tire on, could you let me know how it goes? You know the usual....how it handles......how many miles you get on it....etc.
