Its always a good idea to specify exactly what's getting bald.

Tire price update

Here's a new place that seems to have reasonable prices.

Thumbs up what does Triumph say about mounting car tires on 111

Has anyone writin or spoke to Triumph on the mounting of a car tire on the rear and as I understand it only for a savings in price?

How do they feel about this mounting???

Now why would one ask the question when one already knows the answer?

You KNOW they won't approve!! As a mfgr they would open themselves up to HUGE liability if they gave it their stamp of approval.

Metzler M880 Rear $289.48
ME880 240/50VR-16 REAR ROCKET III 0 degree steel belted radial METZELER No free shipping on tires

Avon Cobra Front $158.74

I was totally unaware of the D404. I'd have gone there instead of the Elite 3.
The online images of the tread directional tread pattern, for a front Elite 3, is totally unlike the brochure I just received. The V notch does not attach on first contact with the channels. I will go to the D404 next. When Dunlop begins producing a D407 in a Triumph compatible front tire I going with it. Their MT Multi-Tread technology sounds mighty close to the Bridgestone DTC (Dual Tread Compound). This latter was/is a great tire but not available for the Rocket III Tourer nor Touring, that I know of.

Metzler has a grip on us like the banking cartel. Go native, buy local: Dunlop

Motorcycle Superstore has a sale on at the moment - you can get a Metzeler ME880 rear for $226.99!

Hmmm.... Cyclegear has them for $202.99 + Free shipping.... Not such a good price at the Superstore after all!

I have an 08 RIII Touring... had the Dunlops (ugly), then the Metzeler's (only got 7000 miles on them) and I don't push hard... went with Avon Cobra's and I LOVE em. I sense the bike handling better on and off freeway ramps and curves. Good Luck!
