Lets see some paint jobs

How much should a paint job cost ? Would like to see different paint jobs and see how much price goes up for more detail.
How many coats of paint? how many coats of clear? I know the more detail of paint job the more money but it would be nice to see pictures and how much it cost. Just to give me a gauge how much my paint job should cost don't want to spend more money then I should.

Cane,

Heres mine, the paint job was a 50th birthday present from my wife.

Hope you can see the water droplets in the paint, I don't know how many coats were involved.

Theres around $1500 worth here, which isn't too bad when you consider I was quoted over $3000 by other local painters.

Tony

paint job

TonyMax, $1500 did that do all the metals on your Rocket?
I could see your water droplets it looks good and I'm sure it looks even better in the sun.

Rider, why did you get rid of the corbin bags? they look good with your paint job.

scowherd, All that was done for $900.00? wow
looks good.

My bike is in for some custom work and to paint my tank and my two bear claws one for my K&N filters and the other for my extentended tank and my side covers my front and back fender just to paint them he is charging me $1500 he is saying I'm getting a really good deal.
He is painting it metalic black with a little pural and metalic sivler down the center, and silver leafing to separat the silver and black along the lines of the bike and a red pin strip along the sivler and black .
I all ready said yes to the price so how much do you guys think I should pay to get my spoiler and my bottom and my radiator covers painted?

I got rid of the Corbin bags because I have kids, dogs, cats, etc.. who also love Corbing bags. I also wanted to try a set of Jardines. Sunshine had some Leatherlykes, so I traded her + cash.. then bought Jardines. The Leatherlykes are not as nice looking, but I can take them off and throw them on the garage floor and nothing happens to them.. and the Jardines sound awesome..

Yes the jardines are nice I love them the sound and extra power they give you is great I only payed $500 including shipping and I tell you it was the best money I spent on my bike.
I was thinking of geeting some beattle bags so there not that easy to take off and on?

Hey Cane, take a look at my 'flame' paint job via this thread...

Hi All - Just Bought Barney!

At first I wanted an all black Rocket, then found this on Craigslist - I planned on changing the tins but now I love it, it has really grown on me and looks great in the flesh and in the sun - I have no idea how much it cost but I've heard good jobs can go from 2-4.5k and up...

The jobs on this thread look outstanding, and extremely good value for money, especially the $900 one, wow...!

Cane..
Kids ride bicycles.. dog jumps on bike, cat jumps on bike, etc.. probably could shoot the dogs and cats, but can't get away with that with the kids.. lol

The Corbins are pretty easy to take on and off. There are two nuts and one bolt for each bag. Once removed, there's a small bracket left, behind the passenger footpeg, and the bolts that attach to the fender rails do protrude a bit, but it's not bad.
