| Test rode a Rocket III standard on Saturday
at Eurosport Cycles in Fort Worth, TX.. This was the first time on a Rocket III. Took the bike out on a 12 mile loop and then back to the dealership. My current ride is a 98 Honda Valkyrie Tourer and I have always ridden with a windshield. That being said, the wind on Saturday was blowing like you wouldn't believe. The Rocket III I was riding did not have a windshield and I was riding into a headwind and all I could do was hold on for dear life. I couldn't open her up like I wanted to due to the wind. The other thing that I didn't like was the position of the shifter and foot brake. I like mine to be a little further back and I think the new Roadster has addressed that issue. The other thing that I will need is some pull back risers. What risers are on the market for the Rocket III that will work with the OEM cables without having to run longer cables? Other than a windshield, risers, and footpeg location, I enjoyed my test ride. Looking forward to a test ride on the new Roadster and becoming a Rocket III Captain in the near future.

Rivco is the only option, to my knowledge, regarding the risers. I have them on my R3T. They're satisfactory, but not ideal. There's too much play in them for my liking. They could also stand to come back a hair more for me (I'm 5'10").

Pullback bars will do the same thing but you still have to lengthen the cables.

Next time we cross paths, I'll show you what I mean. The bars aren't loose. The risers have movement.

I would agree. The bars and Rivco risers do move a bit when I'm pushing the bike around. Doesn't seem to do it when under way.

Play in the risers?!? Then there is something wrong! There shouldn't be play in a riser no matter how tall they are.
I have Rivco's on my R3 and there is no difference in the "play" from the factory risers.
You might want to recheck your torque, sounds like something isn't right. | | Never pet a Dog that's on FIRE.
