Oh hail

Got caught in a hail storm going home from work today. 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. I was riding through a bad thunderstorm, not really minding the rain because it was 100 degrees today, when I started to get pelted. Made it to an underpass about a mile farther on and waited out the hail. Only lasted about 5 min. I have ridden through bad storms before, but this was the first time getting hailed on. No damage that I could see.

Hail is painful but I fear the lightning much more in a thunderstorm.....and of course an embedded tornado can ruin a day too. Riding through a thunderstorm is scary business...........

Baggage1, and here I thought you and Dave were thinking I was "chicken" for originally suggesting that we cut the ride short and eat somewhere closer...what was I thinking.
