| My butt is sore
After 1,908 miles on this last trip, I finally made it home tonight at 9:32 pm. I left Key West at 5:35 am and at 8:00 am I was on the mainland and decided to see if I could make it home in one day...I did...but the butt is sore and I am fixing to take a hot soak in the tub.
After the rainstorm (from Homossassa Springs till Perry, I was soaked, but changed clothes and put on the rain suit and continued on...but it was pretty chilly and that is the reason for the hot soak.
Here are some pics:
Great to be back.

| Great Pics, MM. Sounds like a trip to remember. How many miles did you do in that last day to earn your sore ass? | "The higher up a pole a Circus Monkey climbs, the more his ass shows." |

855 miles, now you know why it was/is sore.
The Gold Wing would have been better, but you ride what got, a 120 miles of that was in the rain and I ran into cooler temperatures in northern Florida and apparently missed a tornado that killed two people in Tallahassee. The Rocket ran like a horse the engine was solid.

Congrats MolinoMan. Your butt might feel sore but, in the grand scheme of things, your soul ought to be... satisfied

Not as sore as Punisher's! Congrats Molinoman!
Is the seat stock or do you have an after market on the Rocket? I have a Corbin dual tour now but I did a 750 miler on the stocker and that was one arse burning ride.

I feel pretty good about the ride, that I was able to mentally keep pushing myself despite the posterior discomfort.
As for the seat, I had bought the Triumph seat with the backrest already installed (I assume it came unassembled as it was a display and Travis, my salesman, said it was a bear to put together). I put the original stocker in storage. The backrest actually worked pretty well but I had to keep making sure my "camelback" water supply was properly positioned behind the backrest or it was noticeably uncomfortable (pushing my lower back too far forward).
I tried riding without underwear (leaving from Key West...no jokes please), with underwear, after changing during the rainstorm, and moving around quite a bit, after about 60 miles that is when it started getting uncomfortable for me. Usually I would just stop and "rest" a couple of minutes and then get back on. My second to the last stretch during my second to last gas stop lasted till my last gas stop 179 miles later. Next trip I may try those biker short type underwear...forget what they are called and see if they offer more comfort...or I may just get a newer (likely more expensive) seat that is custom built for comfort, Russell or other, as the bike was willing to go a lot further (a thousand mile day is easily attainable) but the seat is going to have to be a lot more forgiving.
Tomorrow I am going to have breakfast with my former Gold Wing rider gang at the Golden Corral for old times sake and I think I can ride the Triumph now...today I gave it a rest and now the butt feels better...back to normal.
On one of my gas stops I got 201 miles to my tank with 8/10th's of a gallon still in the tank so I probably could have gone another 25 miles or so but decided I needed to fill up.

Flip, I'm insulted about the t-shirt, that was my 2008 Daytona Bike Week T-shirt. I had to look long and hard for one that had "Bike Week Daytona 2008" with a big eagle (on the back, smaller version on front, obscured by the mirror) NOT holding a Harley engine in it's claws.
The material for the biker shorts is lycra...just wondering if it might be more comfortable.

Regading the biker shorts, I have a pair from LD Comfort. They are similar to bicycle riding shorts and they do help quite a bit.
I'm happy with the Corbin dual, I have the heated one and its real nice on a cold day. However, I got a great deal on mine through the rat site and probably wouldn't pay Corbin's price for it.......would go for the Russel day-long instead.
