a little change:)

Well I wanted something to look more like a Rocket, to go better with all my accessories I made.
And this is what I came up with just needs to be polished more, but I think this looks more like a rocket .
What do you guys think?

alluminum

Skip, the piece I put on its open in the front and opened at the back as well as a vent at the back.
When I make it all out of alluminum the side vents will be all hollow making the back vent all flow together allowing more air to flow.
When it was just the back vent all that air that flowed through made a little wind noise because just the back was open.
Now I put some slits on the bottom and the vents at the side and now there is no wind noise and I tappered it thinking it looks more like a rocket

alluminum

Rocket, yes painted black would be nice I only took my bike out a few time and its painted with a heat paint It seemed to be fine .
But I was told on a hot day being stuck in traffic my paint might blister being so close to the exhaust, and being wood under fiberglass I really didn't want to take that chance of a fire. So I put alluminum on the back and put some vents on the bottom and it was fine.
Then I decided to change it a little by putting that vent on the side and realized that my back was all covered in alluminum all's I need to do is to weld it and put my sides on then weld the side take out the scews fill the holes polish it all up and I have one made out of alluminum sounds easy and I could do the same way out of other metals so I think one day I could make these bottom pieces for other captans one day and this way I could make the two types.
And when I do make one out of alluminum I will do another one and get it chromed and see what look I like the best.

It certainly does a fine job of hiding that ugly starter that dangles out in the open.

bottom side piece

Thanks Hellfire, It even gets more looks now
I'm starting a welding class this Saturday so I could make one out of alluminum and another out of stainless steel and see what one I like the best. The teacher thinks if I could do this work out of wood once I learn how to weld and work with metals I should be able to do it no problem.
I said to my wife that now I am nervous to start my class on Saturday because now i have some pressure since my teacher thinks I'll be good

It looks real good and good luck on your classes.
how'd that first day of weldin school go?
Sure you don't just want to make it out of fiberglass?
Just kiddin, learn all you can and good luck.
don't forget, I'll take one when you go into production,
maybe by then I'll have my pipes.
