Fonzie - Hey, Cunningham! What do you think looks better (as he adjusts his motorcycle mirrors), up or down?

Cunningham - Well, I'd think you could see better with them up?

Fonzie - Who cares about looking where they've been? What LOOKS better?

That is correct, the convex gives you a wide field of view behing you and in most cases clearer.
You just have to decide between style and function

Doesn't Ridin Sunshine hava a set of teardrop mirrors, not the flame shaped mounts but similar mirrors?

Okay.. Now that I can see your picture.. I thought I would like the looks of these at first. But.. after seeing similar mirrors on other bikes, all I think of when I see these "flame" stems now is "deer antlers". They don't even look like flames when mounted, they look like a nice 6 or 8-point rack..
