Harry,

What size did you get? There are two sizes on the Crampbuster website.

The old Throttle Rocker didn't offer more than one size. I think you'd want the smaller size since our grips look to be just about at 1 3/8". A little snug is better than a little loose.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would want something sticking off the twistgrip like a tumor. If you negate the spring tension the return spring on the throttle bodies pose, that's really all you need. HD has had a friction snubber on their bikes for years. Personally, I can't see spending even 12 bucks on a tumor when for 50 cents you can achieve the same result.

I have mine set in a completely neutral position. I can ride down the road and take my right hand off the throttle and pick my nose if I want to and the bike maintains it's speed, gradually slowing down after some distance. I find the stock grip rubbers to be quite comfortable but the 50 cent throttle lock will work with any grip so long as you use the stock bar ends. All the add-on tumors remind me of banjo picks with a tail.

My design is completely hidden, flush with the twistgrip. You don't even know it's there. I guess if you want to spen a hundred bucks, get a Throttlemeister. Mine does the same thing for a hundred less. Of course you have to make it yourself....that could be a problem, I guess.

I bought mine for $7.00.. so I don't feel too bad about it, of course that's still more than 50 cents.

I don't have a problem making whatever. I looked at your pics, but couldn't really see what was going on (old eyes, I guess). I know about the friction setup on HDs. I've owned a few. I don't like that setup. It's dangerous, AFAIC, because the friction wheel is difficult to get to, at least for my small hands. If your setup is better, I'm all ears. But again, couldn't really tell much from the pics.

P.s. the cost isn't/shouldn't be an issue. If you have base decisions on whether or not to spend $10, you probably shouldn't be playing with $20K toys to begin with.

I too have the throtle rocker. It's found a home on my last three bikes. I am really not sure if I use it or not. It has turned to second nature much like a heel toe shifter, it just becomes automatic. It isn't really a replacement for the throttlemeister, flipmeister or other throttle lock devises. It does allow you to relax your fingers. I will strech them out and lay them across the front brake lever. However if you have a numbing or tingling (read carple tunnel)of your fingers I find the only way to releive itis to hang it below my arse. Overall I feel you need them both. I think whe I bought them they were $9.99.
Maybe flip can turn one out of 304 Stainless Steel for $7.88

More stirring the pot...........

If you want to go all out......The AudioVox CSS 100 electronic cruise control unit is adaptable to the R3. The servo will fit nicely under the right side, side tin. Ir's entirely pushbutton....around 100 bucks.
