| | | Blown Progressive shocks? I think I have a failed (right hand) Progressive 440 shock. I noticed some old slime on the right side of the swing arm while doing some cleaning. Looks like it had been there a while.
Anyway, are the Progressive 440 shocks rebuildable? If so, do yo uknow if they must go back to Progressive or can they be rebuilt at any bike shop that has the capabilities?

| | | I would call Progressive. Seems to be a fairly comman occurance and if I remember correctly they have been good about taking care of them.

| | | We sell about 400 sets of Progressive shocks a year. We have never seen 440's blow out a seal but about 1% (4 a year) of the 412's have this problem. Of course we also sell 20 sets of 412's for each set of 440's. Progressive has always been good about replacing shocks with blown seals as long as they were returned within the 1 Yr. warranty period. When you contact them, Progressive will want you to email or mail them a copy of your receipt. |

That is not exceptional. HOWEVER, I am not the original purchaser and I also believe that more than a year has passed since they were originally purchased. Also, since I am not the original purchaser I do not have a receipt. Hence, my questions........................... does anyone know if Progressive Suspension (or any of their resellers) rebuild the 440 series shocks? Or, are they even rebuidable at all?

The 440's use to come with "Lifetime" warranty, try contacting Progressive. I had a black set that I contacted them on once inquiring about chrome and they exchanged them for me for free. I am impressed with their customer service. |

They still do IF YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER AND IF YOU HAVE THE RECEIPT. This is what I was told yesterday when I talked to a rep at Progressive Suspension.
I am NOT the original purchaser and I do NOT have the receipt.
