| | | VTX Shocks? Do any of you VTX owners or previous owners know if Honda VTX stock shocks are softer sprung than our shocks? I'm pretty sure they are a direct swap. At some point this year, hopefully before the discs in my spine are too compressed, I will be replacing my stock shocks. After 30,000 miles on the stock shocks, I think I'm feeling an inch shorter.. lol
Yes, I know some of the other alternatives, I just don't want to cough up $400+ bucks for them if I don't have to. I don't need sporty performance as much as I need to absorb highway seams and other bumps and such on or rural roads around here. |

| | My buddy tried my R3 shocks on his 1800 VTX after I got a pair of Progressive 440's and he thought that they were smoother than his stock ones! He then went out and bought Progressives too and was more than pleased with the result. HTH |

| | | You can get the Progressive 412's for about $200.
Or search on Ebay for Progressives under VTX. That's how I picked up my HD 440's.

| | Hi. I'm new here but not to riding. I've been a daily rider since 1962. I just took delivery of my new 2007 Rocket 3 last Friday. I hope VTX shocks do fit the Rocket 3 because I am a Progressive dealer and specialize in parts for Honda VTX and Suzuki M109 (I also own 1 ea. of those bikes). I will try installing Progressive VTX shocks on my Triumph and let everyone know if they work. If anyone knows for sure they do work and would care to order some, we offer new 412's in 12", 11.5" and 11", both in standard weight springs (rider weight under 200 lbs.) and HD for $194.95. Please CLICK HERE to go to our website or call 209-833-6174. Please don't think I just jumped in to make a sale. I just read where you mentioned the high cost of Progressive shocks and thought people here may not know we have them for under $200.00. Of course they aren't advertised for the R3 on our website 'cause before now I had no idea they would fit. I'm really impressed with my new bike so far and looking forward to making some changes to it. |

| | Thank you for your kind welcome Yes sir, we stock 440's as well. Unfortunately the price just went up on those. Progressive's suggested retail price on those is: 627.00 Our price is now: $551.76. Please inform us if you find them for less at any other authorized dealer (not Ebay - they often sell 2nds) and we will beat their price. Please CLICK HERE to see our 440's. By the way, I went to Progressive's website and confirmed their part numbers for VTX and R3 shocks are the same. I'm really happy about that because my wife and I aren't pleased with the stock shocks. Both of have have sore backs after only riding less than 200 miles.

| | Do you think that the 412's are sufficient for two up riding with luggage (better than stock)? I weigh 195 and can't how much the passenger weighs but less than me. Thanks for the input. |
