Clutch Parts Update

It seems that Triumph has quit suppling the old style [05] pressure plate. The replacement plate they sent me had the old part number, but the new design plate was in the bag. They have not upgraded the numbers on the bearing and lifter piece, however, and that is why I got a mixed bag of parts. The correct bearing and stronger lifter piece should get in today. I was told that the lifter piece I'm getting is 08 spec. which is stronger than 06. I'll post pics of everything before I put it back together this weekend.

That's great news, Wilber. I couldn't understand how the old style bearing was possibly going to work with a new style pressure plate... obviously Triumph Parts doesn't know shit from shinola.

I'd love to see photos of new your parts before you put them in... '08 lifter piece, lifter shaft, and bearing side of pressure plate.

Nothing to report yet. Fed-Ex never showed up with the parts, even though Triumph paid for overnight delivery. Now I have to wait till Tuesday...............

Reg., the release bearing was made much bigger in 06, and the Lifter piece was also redesigned. My 05 had the bearing assembled backward.
That's a good time with windshield and bags. Did you launch in 2nd or 1st?

Back in the saddle

Finally, the right parts got here yesterday. I took the day off work to go get them and put Lucille back together. The clutch works so smooth that I can't believe it. I don't think it ever worked that good.

Here are some pics of the old and new parts.

New and old lifter piece. New one is slightly larger in the slim part where the old one broke

Old and new lifter shaft. This part evidently has not been changed.
